By the time Sage, Leah and Hunter arrived at the hospital, Wayne was already in the operating theater.
Both Zamora and Mister Wando waited outside. When they saw Sage and Leah, they greeted them in
a hurry, “Miss Sage, Miss Leah.”
“What’s Grandpa’s situation?” Sage and Leah asked at the same time.
Zamora felt very guilty and said, “Mister Braxton pushed him, and he fainted after that. The doctor said
he suffers from a cerebral hemorrhage…”
Leah covered her mouth with her hands and her eyes reddened. Hunter immediately hugged her and
comforted her, “Don’t worry, Grandpa will definitely get through and be better. We can pray for him.”
Sage’s face was dark as she asked, “So Braxton laid his hand on Grandpa?”
“It’s my fault. I shouldn’t have let him in..” Mister Wando blamed himself for what happened.
Zamora regretted it as they had never thought Braxton would be so daring to hurt Wayne, his own
father. It was so outrageous.
As soon as Braxton entered Rosa Garden, he kept on scolding and wanted to look for Sage. At first,
Zamora wanted to kick him out of the house, but he remembered that Wayne was at home. He recited
the grievances Sage had suffered thanks to her two uncles over the years and thought it would be a
good idea for Wayne to stand up for Sage against Braxton and teach Braxton a lesson.
In fact, Wayne had the same idea as well. He went out with a stick and gave Braxton a good beating
“You worthless piece of trash! Have you ever looked in the mirror to see what kind of person you are?
How dare you scold Sage? Look at your own daughter and think again if you are qualified to be
teaching Sage how to be a decent person. Aren’t you embarrassed by yourself? How did I ever end up
with such a traitor son like you? I should just beat the hell out of you and let you be reunited with your
mother!”
Since Braxton was sitting in a wheelchair, his accessibility was limited. However, that did not stop him.
His anger had been mounting since he was at the Jefferson family, and his temper was never good to
start with. The beating from Wayne only enraged him further, and he also felt embarrassed to be seen
beaten by his own father.
At one point, when Wayne whacked the stick at him, he grabbed the stick and pushed him.” You dirty
old man, have you gone crazy?”
Wayne had a healthy body that could support him to run for at least two miles. However, with
his old age and high blood pressure problem, his blood pressure suddenly spiked after being pushed
by Braxton. He failed to stand steadily and pointed his shaking finger at Braxton, “You …” Before he
could continue, he fainted.
Zamora was still feeling scared, remembering the whole scenario. “Luckily, Mister Yuriel was there and
supported Mister Wayne from falling while also kicking Mister Braxton to the side. I could not imagine
the consequences if Mister Yuriel was not around.”
Sage was so angry that she could feel a fire burning in his heart. She did not even react when she
heard Zamora mentioning Mister Yuriel. She pressed her lips against each other. The expressions on
her face finally changed after she turned around and saw Jace, who had just paid the surgical fee.
Jace walked right towards her. Sage looked into his eyes and asked what she thought was the most
important question, “Did you kick Braxton?”
Jace replied, “Yes.”
“Is he dead?”
Jace replied again, “No.
“Why didn’t you kill him?”
Jace looked into Sage’s eyes. He saw the pair of reddened eyes that were filled with hatred and said, “I
used my full strength to kick him. His wheelchair got flipped over, and he was sent to the hospital too.”
Sage finally felt less angry than before. After a while, her face returned to normal, and she replied,
“Thank you.
Jace raised his hand and wanted to pat Sage’s head but he stopped halfway and said, “No problem, I
just happened to be there.”
The light of the operating theater finally switched off. Wayne was being wheeled out by the medical
staff.
“Doctor, how is my Grandpa?”
The doctor replied, “Due to his existing liver pain condition, his blood pressure spike, and the pain in
both of his ribs caused him to have a cerebral hemorrhage. Fortunately, someone had supported him
from falling, and his head was not hit the ground. He had no long term damage due to the fact he had
surgery in time. He just needs to rest to heal.”
