Sage did not understand Freya’s horrified expression.

“What’s on your mind, Aunt Freya?”

Freya snapped back into reality and said, “Oh, nothing. I was just thinking about how I should’ve been

stricter with Jace when he was younger.”

“Look at you, so talented and smart. Unlike Jace, who knew nothing but to worry me.” Freya nagged

about her own son like he was an adoptive child.

Every parent acted the same way toward their own children. Sage thought about what her mother

would always say to her.

“You’re so stupid. How did your father and I give birth to such a dumb daughter with our high IQs! How

I wish I could shove you back into my womb and rebirth a smarter one!”

Sage used to get really annoyed and would talk back, “Go ahead and try. I’d like to see if you’d be able

to give birth to such a smart and beautiful girl like me.”

Primrose would get so angry, but Sawyer would try to stop her. He would put Sage in his embrace and

save her from her trouble. “No way, one daughter is enough for me. I won’t allow anyone to take my

love for her away from me.”

Primrose would say to him, “Haven’t you spoiled her enough? She can’t get any more arrogant than

this. She’s going to think she could fly if she wishes to!” “She can fly as high as she wants to. I’ll chase

after her with a plane,” Sawyer said as he carried and raised Sage high up in the air. “My darling little

Sage, you’ll always be daddy’s little princess!”

Those were the good times. At that time, it seemed like it was just any other day, and now it had

become a memory.

Sage felt gloomy all of a sudden.

Freya turned the subject back and asked, “Who taught you how to sew?”

Sage answered, “My mom had a servant that used to follow her everywhere. They were as close as

sisters, just like you and Aunt Wendy.

“She was born into a family who earned a living through arts and crafts, and her ancestors were all in

the sewing business. They were all very talented.

“When I was a child, I got bored just staying home, and I was a really playful child as well. I’d always rip

my clothes and my mother would lecture me. So I’d always go to the servant asking for help, and she’d

always help me.

“She noticed that I was interested in sewing, so she started teaching me how to sew. I was a quick

learner, and I’d always been into crafts, so it didn’t take me long before I learned to sew.

Freya was entertained by how Sage used to be such a playful yet confident child. “The friend I

mentioned was really interested in your sewing skills, and she wanted to get to know you. If there’s a

chance, I’d like to introduce you to her.”

“Sure thing,” Sage answered.

They had been chatting for a long time before Freya realized that she had been taking up Sage’s time.

Freya would love to go on, but she did not want to take up more of Sage’s time.

Sage left promptly after with her bodyguard. Aunt Wendy eventually went outside to check on Freya,

saw her wheeling herself, and went ahead to help her.

“Has Sage left?” Wendy asked.

Freya hummed yes in response. “How did it go?” Wendy asked. “Pretty good.” Pretty good? Wendy

looked happy and asked, “So you’re saying Sage had agreed to start seeing Jace again?” Freya

frowned dumbfoundedly. “What? No, that’s not what we talked about.”

“No?”

Wendy looked baffled and asked, “Then what did you guys talk about for such a long time?” “Many

things.” Freya was just happy that she got to chat with Sage. She said to Wendy, “Sage told me that

Primrose used to talk to her about me when she was still alive. She even praised me. Can you believe

that? How flattering!”
