The temperature in the ward dropped tremendously like it was wintertime. Jace was sitting, and Sage
was standing. Both of them glared at Dr. Wagner, who was still lying down on the ground, forming an
overwhelming momentum. Despite being a surgical director in charge of the whole surgical team, he
was on the downside now without acting arrogant and scolding people like usual. He forced himself to
calm down and swallowed his saliva. He looked at Sage, “Wasn’t you the one who ordered it?”
“I ordered you?” Sage stretched out her hand at Hunter and ordered, “Give me the phone.”
Hunter knew what Sage wanted to do. He unlocked the phone and looked for the conversation history.
Sage took the phone and showed it to Dr. Wagner. She said plainly, “I did want to arrange someone to
give him a shot so he would remember not to act without thinking twice.”
Jace knew that Sage was referring to him. He pressed his lips against each other. ‘Could there be a
turning point?”
Sage continued, “But it is not necessary to take the anti-inflammatory shot. Since there will be side
effects, I thought about it and canceled the order.”
Jace was startled as he knew Sage was feeling bad for him, and he was pleased with it. “So that’s what
happened. Thank you for canceling it.”
Sage glared at him and could not bother with him. She did not want to give him another chance to
disturb her. It would be never-ending.
A drop of sweat dripped down from Dr. Wagner’s forehead. He stuttered, “That’s because I was too
busy and did not see the message.” “Is that so?” The sharp glare from Sage was like a knife lightly
brushed on Dr. Wagner’s face. She took over the needle from Jace and asked, “Then, is this the anti-
inflammatory shot that you are going to inject into his body?”
Dr. Wagner’s chubby face trembled while looking guilty.
“Dr. Wagner, we are both doctors. You can fool others but not me.” Sage gently pushed the needle, and
the medicine jumped out from the thin needle tube. She sneered, “We just need to find out what’s in
this needle.” After that, she headed toward Dr. Wagner with the needle in her hand
Dr. Wagner’s face turned pale, and he slowly moved backward.
“It’s just anti-inflammatory. It won’t kill you, why are you afraid of it?” Sage said with an evil smile. She
looked like an angel of death with the needle in her hand. Just when she was about to inject the needle
into Dr. Wagner’s body. He shouted out, “No, don’t do it! It’s poison! It can kill me!”
Dr. Wagner could not stand it any longer. He quickly stood up, and his body was shivering like he had a
seizure. His tears and snot fell down at the same time because he was too scared.
“I didn’t mean to do it. They force me to do it. They force me…” In the end, he kneeled down on the
floor with his palms held close together and begged, “Dr. S, I beg you to let me go. We have known
each other for such a long time!
Sage glanced at him coldly and said mercilessly, “If I’d not known you for many years, I would
have injected this poison into your body.”
She made a gesture, and the bodyguard came in to take Dr. Wagner away. In the midst of his struggle,
he still insisted he was innocent. Sage passed the needle to Hunter and said, “Give this to the police
and have them send it to the lab to identify.”
“Yes.”
Before Hunter left, Sage exhorted, “Supervise it yourself, don’t let others have the chance to meddle
with it.”
