“This is not a place to talk business, may I treat you to a cup of coffee?” Helena asked
Sage politely. Truth to be told, Helena was dumbfounded upon knowing that her ex-lady boss was the
world-renowned Jade Master. She called her good friend Ada to verify and Ada was still trying to hide
it.
She reprimanded Ada for being dishonest. How could she do that to her!
Ada was feeling helpless. Her boss, Sage, was a person that kept an extremely low profile, and Helena
shouldn’t blame her for doing her job. Helena should just blame Jace for not being able to keep Sage
as his wife. He was stupid and blind for letting her go.
Helena never would’ve thought the person she admired the most was in fact closer than she thought.
She kept staring longingly at Sage. Zayne looked at her with disgust and reminded her to act normal for
the sake of the company image. From another perspective, one could see that she was about to drool
in admiration.
“You’re Ada’s classmate, and by right I should honor your wishes.” Sage said as she took her name
card, and continued, “But you’re an employee of the Yuriel Group. I can’t honor that.”
Helena was left speechless.
Sage added with a calm expression, “I’ll keep your card, you can contact me anytime if you’re thinking
about jumping ship. Norah Jewelry will always welcome you.”
Jace was left speechless as well. Did she just publicly snatch his employees? Where was the respect?
Hunter looked at his watch and reminded Sage, “Miss Sage, the branch manager has been waiting
outside the entrance for some time. We should go now.”
“Hmm.” Sage nodded and said, “I’ll get going. See you.”
Jace’s lips pursed into a thin line as he watched her walk away from him once again. His pupils
darkened from her exit.
Sage felt agitated as she walked out the hospital door.
“How did he find out about my identity?” “Do you mean your identity as Master of jade?” Hunter asked
as he walked two steps forward.
“What else,” Sage said as she rolled her eyes.
Hunter wrinkled his nose, “Miss Sage, you have numerous identities, how should I know which one
you’re referring to?” He thought for a moment and said, “There’s a saying, if you don’t want anyone to
know, don’t do it..,”
Sage glared at him and he immediately flinched, “I shouldn’t have said that, I mean, the truth
will eventually prevail…”
Sage continued walking toward the exit. Hunter scratched his head and said quietly,” Remember the
stamp you made him? Mister Jace isn’t stupid, he could easily put two and two together once he saw
your other art pieces.”
It was not just a stamp. Sage gave him a lot more than that.
Sage thought to herself, Wouldn’t other people give their exes back the gifts they received from them
after they break up?’ Why didn’t Jace return her anything after the divorce?
Idiot, an idiot man.
Norah Group had a vast division of businesses and they had entities all over the major cities including
Ark Town. Braxton and Zane didn’t lay their hands on these projects, so they were doing well.
Many had thought Sage passed away the last three years. Sage did not let go of her business during
her time in Nadeem City being Jace’s wife. All of the quarterly reports were sent to her email on time
and she made sure to handle everything. Braxton and Zane received a falsified version of the reports
since they never read it anyway.
People always thought that Norah Group was dying, but little did they know that it was operating
steadily.
