It was a good night’s sleep. Puffy was so obedient and did not bark at all.

Sage was in a good mood the next morning. She felt refreshed eating Nigel’s homemade breakfast.

Sean and Nigel did not hire a maid. The two were busy with work, so they had no time to do

housework. They often hire a part-time cleaner to help. They did not have many belongings, so their

place looked clean and tidy. It felt homely. There were two pillows on the large sofa in the living room,

with Sean and Nigel’s cartoon figures printed on them. Sage gave the pair of pillows to them as a gift a

few years ago. They kept it, and the color faded a bit after washing. Some photos of Sean and Nigel

were displayed together on the TV stand. One was a cool photo of Sean in a suit and leather shoes,

and the other was a photo of Nigel in a doctor’s white coat. At first glance, Sage could tell that

someone had taken a candid photo of Nigel at home in his white coat.

There were also intimate photos of the two together in all kinds of outfits, including casual, formal,

traditional, and others.

Sage admired the photos for a long time and blinked. Only then did she realize that those were their

wedding photos!

Nigel gave Sage a slice of buttered bread and a glass of milk. He urged, “Drink this.”

Sage took the bread from him but refused to take the milk.

“I don’t like this. It smells horrible.” Nigel insisted, “You need more protein.” Sage picked up the boiled

egg and said obediently, “I can eat two eggs instead for protein.”

Nigel was speechless and shook his head helplessly. He could not deal with her, so he had to finish

two glasses of milk by himself.

“If I remember, mother doesn’t seem to like milk either.” Nigel drank half a glass of milk and pondered,

“It’s probably in the genes.” Sage nodded in agreement. Otherwise, why would she find the milk stinky

when everyone liked the smell of milk?

No one is perfect. Sage inherited many excellent genes from her mother, so this little flaw was nothing.

Sage was not bothered by this.

“The surgery is scheduled for ten o’clock in the morning. Do you want to meet and chat with the

patient?”

Sage took a sip of the juice and nodded. “Definitely. I’ve understood most of the basic situation, but I’ll

have to see the specific details in person.” The two quickly finished their breakfast and hurried to the

hospital.

Nigel was born into a family of doctors. His father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were doctors.

His grandfather built an advanced medical institution in Brown City. The current director was Mason

Jett, who was also Nigel’s father. Sage called him Uncle Jett.

Nigel grew up with his father and grandfather’s teaching. As the only child, he had no choice but to

follow in his parents’ footsteps. At last, he became a good doctor and represented the Goodcare

Hospital. Nigel specialized in neurology, but Sage was the expert in neurosurgery.

The medical team was ready.

Sage went to the dressing room to change. After that, she led the medical staff to the ward to check the

patient’s condition.

Nigel was wearing a white coat too. He walked side by side with Sage in the direction of the special

ward. Meanwhile, he urged her, “The patient is not in a stable mood. Pay attention to your attitude and

words. Don’t trigger him.” “Hm,” Sage had met all kinds of patients. Jace was an extremely difficult

patient, but she managed to nurse him back to health. Why would she be afraid to handle other

patients? When she walked to the ward, she saw a frail and slender girl sitting on the bench at the

door. The girl looked lost and dazed. It was not until Nigel called her that she returned to her senses.

“Miss Liston.”

As the girl slowly raised her head, Sage saw a pure and beautiful face. The girl had big and watery

eyes and looked very innocent.
