Jace took a huge hit, and he felt like his brain was about to implode. He felt an immense
wave of pain and he blacked out.
Jace laid on Sage’s body, not an ounce of consciousness.
Hunter was just beside Jace as the pebble flew toward the back of Jace’s head. It almost hit him.
Hunter scowled at the protestors angrily, “Are you guys trying to kill him? Be prepared to be locked up
in the cell for the rest of your lives!”
He got to put a stop to it. Just as Hunter yelled, the crowd was stunned, and a loud siren was heard
from the back. Someone yelled from the crowd, “Run, the cops are here!”
The nuisance protestors fled for their lives all of a sudden, some of them were caught and surrounded
by the cops. It was chaotic.
Sage felt uneasy being held by Jace. She pushed him away lightly, and her eyes met Jace’s hazy eyes.
He shook his head slowly to relieve the pain.
“Are… you alright?” Sage asked as she pursed her lips. Jace snapped out of his haziness and replied,
“I’m fine.” He then asked, “Were you hurt?”
Sage was not at all used to his concern and worrying attitude, she shook her head and looked away.
Her sight fell on the large pebble on the floor and her eyes darkened.
These so-called fans are either morons or extremely childish! They needed to be taught a
lesson.
They went to the police station to make a report. Sage temporarily suppressed the news and did not
expose it. Those people protested in the name of Dean and it would do Dean no good if it were made
known to the public.
The cops reprimanded them for their actions.
Jim was covered in tomato juices and raw eggs. He cleaned himself up in the washroom and changed
into clean clothes from his backpack. He walked out of the washroom and greeted Sage, “Miss Sage.”
Jace stood in front of the door with a lit cigarette in between his lips as he half-heartedly listened to
Zayne talking. He tilted his head and saw a tall young man standing in front of Sage smiling brightly at
her.
Sage on the other hand had a softened look on her face. She wiped his forehead with her bare hands,
Jace’s face was solemn as he saw the intimacy between them too, and he thought to himself, ‘Where
did this young man come from?’
“Please think before you act next time, leaving the car in such a dangerous situation, what would
happen if they threw stones at you?” Jim nodded obediently as he saw Sage being quite
angry at him, “Yes, Miss Sage.”
He was not worried about getting hurt, he just could not accept the fact that Sage almost got hurt
because of him. As he watched the pebble almost hit Sage while sitting in the car helplessly, he felt as
if his heart skipped several beats during the few seconds of chaos.
Fortunately, someone was there to block the attack from Sage.
Jim turned his head and saw Jace peeking by the door. He walked toward him and stood still in front of
Jace, and bowed at him.
“Thank you kind Sir for protecting my Miss Sage.”
Jace looked as the young man bowed at him with his darkened eyes, he puffed out white smoke with
the cigarette in between his long, thin fingers, and spoke with an icy tone, “Your Miss Sage? Who are
you to my ex-wife?”
Jim froze as he heard Jim. He slowly stood straight from his bent position.
He stared straight at Jace.
Ex-wife.
Jim thought no wonder the man looks so familiar. That man is the guy who stole his master’s uniform
and snuck into the restaurant to pass Sage her birthday present, the irritable ex husband “Oh!”
