Yoel made a spin on the tuming chair as he checked out Sage’s office.
“Say, the decoration of your office doesn’t reflect your age, it looks like some old dude’s office.”
Looking at the pieces of Victorian furniture and antiques in the room, Yoel added, “One of my ex-
girlfriends is an interior designer. I can put you in contact with her. Do make some changes to this office
of yours.”
“There’s no need for that.”
Going through the documents that Hunter handed to her, Sage replied without even looking up, “Firstly,
don’t judge my taste; secondly, if I’m an old dude, you must be a grandpa, and thirdly, you’re already
annoying enough, please don’t introduce me to your e x-girlfriend. I really don’t have the time to deal
with you guys.”
Stroking his lips, Yoel looked at Hunter and asked, “Is it a habit of hers to list things out?”
Seeing how Sage did not say anything, Hunter replied instead, “No. Miss Sage only does this to you.”
“Really? This must mean that I’m quite special, right?”
Instead of feeling ashamed, Yoel felt proud.
Hunter decided to add nothing further to the conversation as he resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
“You’re indeed quite special.” Sage tidied up the documents, looked up at Yoel, and said, “You’re
especially thick-skinned.”
Unfazed, Yoel replied, “I’m only thick-skinned when it comes to pretty ladies.”
Not wanting to deal with Yoel, Sage changed into a pair of sandals and said, “Let’s go now.”
Just when she was about to leave, someone who was both tall and broad in frame entered the room.
Jace wore a dark-colored suit today and his muscular and well-built body was somewhat accentuated
by the suit.
Sage knew his taste for clothes. He had always preferred tailor-made suits rather than the branded
suits sold in outlets.
He did not care for the material, whether it was expensive or of the finest quality, so long as it felt good
on his skin he would wear i t. Sage had long held the notion that Jace was the only person who could
make an inferior suit look superior..
Jace was the personification of a classy and sophisticated man.
Sage had not bothered to look at him in the lobby, but now that he had suddenly appeared before her,
she was forced to look at him, and that sent her into a daze.
“Oh hey, we’re just about to leave,” Yoel said to Jace.
Sage, on the other hand, was frowning. “How did you get up here?”
Hunter too was startled. He quickly questioned the assistants for letting someone into the office without
an appointment.
The assistants started apologizing frantically. Yuri, the lady at the front desk, stuttered as she realized
that she had made a mistake, “My apologies, Miss Sage. It’s my fault. I thought that this handsome
guy… I mean, this man had made an appointment, so I escorted him here. Please don’t blame my
sister, this is entirely my fault.”
The executive assistant, Cora Harley wanted to kill her sister right there and then.
Sage glanced at Cora and asked, “This is your sister?”
“Yes. I’m sorry ma’am. I should have taught her better. I promise that there will be no next time!” Cora
bowed to Sage apologetically.
With a straight face, Sage said, “If I remember correctly, this is the second time that she’s made a
mistake. The one who had made the appointment for Mr. Jace previously as well was your beloved
sister, was it not?”
“…Yes, ma’am.” Cora sounded faint.
In a soft voice, Sage replied, “It’s admirable that you love your sister, but you should not let it affect
your work. Send her to the HR department, and make sure that she gets another month’s pay.” “Yes,
ma’am. Thank you.” Cora thanked Sage and was about to leave with Yuri when Yuri burst into speech.
