Finally, the surgery was done. No complications occurred during the surgery
and it was a successful surgery. Sage was relieved and her whole posture was able to relax.
As for the time when she got hit by her mother, she decided to forgive her and to not dwell on it becaus
e she had a big heart. Or so she tried
to convince herself of. However, she could not let go of the fact that they had been alive for four years,
but she was in the dark about it.
With her arms crossed in front of her chest, she glanced over at those fathers who were
sitting on the couch with her squinted eyes. “Be honest with me. Did all of you know they were alive an
d did not tell any of us about it?”
Seth, Nigel, and Luther looked at them
in unison. Their faces showed they were slightly angry or extremely furious. The godfathers felt the fier
ce look from their kids and felt guilty so they quickly looked in another direction to avoid making eye–
contacts with the kids.
Sergio retorted, “I won‘t say I knew about it early. I recently only got the news about one month ago. Be
fore that, we were also in the dark for a few years!”
Mason said, “That‘s right. I thought someone was
playing me when I received the intel. I never thought it was real and figured there was a possibility that
they turned into zombies.”
Connor snorted, “Zombies? How hilarious. I always knew both of them wouldn‘t have died that easily. T
hink about how sly and cunning those two are. They‘re like a pair of foxes.”
As the conversation went on, everyone focused their sights on Primrose and Sawyer. Then Primrose c
oncentrated on doodling on the bandage on Sawyer‘s body. She kept drawing with a marker pen and re
fused to stop.
“Why should we tell you?” As she
drew a cartoon character on the bandage, she replied without lifting her head, “There‘s nothing all of yo
u can do to help anyways if ya‘ll knew.” She offended everyone with just one sentence.
Connor refused to admit it outloud, “What do you mean there‘s nothing we can do to help? Are we that
useless in your eyes? Aren‘t we the ones who arrived just in time to help out this time?”
“That‘s right.” Rowan could not help it and spoke his thought, “That‘s very hurtful, Primrose.
Mason replied sarcastically, “I know you always think that we are less capable than Sawyer. But we do
have our own strengths. If not, you wouldn‘t have looked for us in the first place.”
All these times Sergio had always been scared of Primrose. Even he could not help it and added flame
to the fire too, “That‘s right. We were the ones you selected among the hundreds and thousands of me
n and that proves that we are of high–
quality men.” Senior Shelby who was less expressive than the rest nodded his head even when he only
understood half of what they were saying, “Yes, Sergio is right!” Then, Luther whispered in his dad‘s ea
r to remind him, “Dad, high–
quality men is actually a derogatory term.” Sergio did not understand how could high–
quality men turn out to be a derogatory term.
Luther explained it to him, “It‘s kinda like saying you‘re someone who is very full or yourself or being delu
quality man. Based on what you said just now, it just shows that you are very lame indeed.”
Cats got Sergio‘s tongue. He felt quite insulted after hearing Luther‘s explanation.
Primrose mockingly laughed, “Sergio, you should go online more
often to learn more about the trending slang words.”
Finally, Sergio nearly lost it but
he still tried to make his point, “Anyway, the point is both of you are wrong to do so.”
The rest of the fathers agreed with Sergio and nodded their heads, “You‘re wrong!” Sage and the rest of
