Sage saw Jim walking out of the ward with his backpack on when she was coming out of the office. He
carefully closed the door behind and puffed with huge relief like he had just went through something
difficult.
Sage felt at ease when she saw him and called his name, “Jim.” Jim turned his head and was met with
a beautiful smile, “Miss Sage, are you done with your meeting?”
“Yes,” Sage looked at his expressions, “What’s going on?”
Jim was stunned at Sage’s wonderful observational skills. He pointed in the direction of the ward and
signaled for them to walk away.
They walked out together. Right when they reached the elevator, Jim admitted something,” My brother
found out about my part-time job and I got a scolding from it.”
Sage gave him a look of disapproval before he quickly defended her. “Oh, I didn’t tell him about you
being my Grandmaster. I’ll never spill your secrets without your permission.”
After finding out that Sage is a doctor, Dean might not be able to handle the fact that she is also a
Masterchef. Sage looked up at Jim and asked, “Does Dean not want you to work?”
Jim nodded and said, “My brother is worried that it’ll take up my practice time, and he said that as a
student, I should only focus on my studies. He even said that if I was low on cash, he could financially
support me.”
Sage nodded with agreement, “He’s not wrong.” She looked at Jim and said, “Your brother is doing this
for your own good.”
“I know that he has good intentions, but I’m all grown up now. This way, I can help out with the debt as
well. I can’t let him take on the burden all alone. I’m responsible for it too.”
Jim said with a serious tone. Though he’s still young and looked young, he had a mature mindset. Life
threw him a curveball at such a young age, how could he not be?
Sage asked with her tone unchanged, “Wasn’t your father’s debts cleared? What else is there?”
Jim pursed his lips and he stared at Sage, “You were the one that helped us with father’s debt, and
now we owe you money. We’ll return the money to you as soon as possible.”
Sage said lightly, “It’s only fifty million dollars, no big deal,” and then she added, “Take your time.”
Jim was determined, “I know you don’t need the money, but it’s only right that we pay you back.
The sooner we repay you, the sooner we can be relieved.”
Sage thought that she shouldn’t knock over his ambitions. She only decided to respond
lightly, “It’s no rush. Your brother is right. You’re just a student now, and you should focus in school.
Basketball and training should be your main priorities, and as for the restaurant, just come once or
twice a month. I’ll inform your Master about this.” “Please, don’t…” The elevator door opened and Sage
walked out with Jim following closely behind. He explained, “Miss Sage, I never lost focus during
basketball training. Being in the restaurant and learning to cook is my passion, plus it’s a way for me to
relieve my stress. Don’t worry about this, please.”
Sage glanced at him, “I’ll still have to talk to your master about the workload.”
“I…” as Jim was about to add further, but Sage’s phone rang. She signaled for Hunter to bring Jim to
the car.
Hunter tried to comfort Jim with a pat on his back. He was aiming for his shoulders but he was only
able to reach his back. It was an awkward gesture that he was doing, but luckily Jim was too hung up
on what Sage advised, “Hunter…”
He wanted to ask a favor from Hunter, but Hunter gave him a helpless look, “Your grandmaster may be
sweet, but my boss is determined. You can’t change her mind once she’s decided. Don’t waste your
time and energy fighting over her decisions.” Jim understood what he meant by all of it but was still
dumbfounded.
