Zachary must have charged the phone. The phone’s battery was still full.
This phone was manufactured locally. It had a starry sky wallpaper, but the screen was pretty much
empty. All the software was deleted, except for WhutsApp.
The strange feeling in her heart grew stronger.
Sage clicked on the WhutsApp icon. There was only a name in his contact list. It was her.
She clicked onto the chat interface and read the latest message. ‘Zachary’ gave her Jace’s contact and
even sent her a Yay emoticon. She scrolled up and saw a voice message for her. “Be a good boy. I’ll
bring you good food when I get back.” (Zachary: Forced to stay in? So sad. Who did that? Why did they
force you to stay in?] [Zachary: That’s great. Are you in Yathein now? Is it fun there?] (Zachary: Sage,
how are you? We’re all worried about you. Are you feeling better?]
Sage put down the phone and walked into the bathroom with messy steps. She turned on the shower
to the maximum and closed the bathroom door. She sat on the floor and started bawling.
She finally learned the truth. It turned out that the ‘Zachary’ that she had been talking to was Jace.
The one who cared about her a lot and kept talking to her was also Jace.
This b*stard!
They were already divorced. Why did he come back to her? Why pretend that he was deeply in love
with her? What was the point of pretending that he could not forget about her? How dare he
impersonate Zachary and lie to her?
What if she found out? Was he not afraid at all?
He was unbelievably brave! How dare he lie to her?!
The showered was so loud and hit her like a rainstorm. Sage was drenched in water. Everything was in
a blur.
The shower was loud, but Tim and Ross still heard Sage’s cries.
Tim arched an eyebrow. He wanted to head to Sage’s room, but Ross held him back.
“Just let her cry. She’ll be okay after crying it out.”
Tim’s face was icy. “It’s just a man. What’s the big deal?”
“What’s love supposed to be? Without him, everything means nothing to her.”
Ross fiddled with his drink and said quietly, “She’s restrained herself enough. Didn’t you cry your eyes
out over a woman too?”
Tim looked up and gave Ross a cool look with his blue eyes. “I was crying over my wife. How can it be
compared to her? She’s crying over her ex-husband.”
“It doesn’t matter. It’s the same as long as you still love them.”
Ross put two ice cubes in the glass and pushed the drink to Tim. “There are things that can’t be
helped. She’ll have to face them herself. All we can do is just stay with her.”
Tim lowered his gaze, picked up the glass, and finished the drink in a gulp. The door opened from the
outside. Kane came in with Laura in a rush. Laura had just finished her mission in the army and came
here in a hurry. Laura did not look good. Her eyes were still a little red. She heard Sage’s crying before
she could even greet Tim and Ross, so she hurriedly rushed into the room. She came to the bathroom
and saw Sage sobbing, burying her face in her knees. She wailed so hard like she was wounded and
abandoned. Laura’s heart throbbed. Her eyes turned red, and she went up to hug Sage. Jace. Oh,
Jace. How could you?
