Sage’s expressions froze
She said as Jace stared intently at her, “I’m just saying. You could make your arrangement, Mr. Yuriel.
It’s getting late, I’ll see you soon”
Sage got into the car and left.
Jace watched as her car went out of sight. He looked down and let out a bitter smile.
What was he thinking? Was he hoping that Sage would ask for him to stay, and go to the festivals with
her? Jace would stay if that’s what she wanted.
She must hate me a lot now, Jace thought. I should just stay away from her.
“Just get in the car, Mr. Yuriel,” Zayne waited for him to get in. He couldn’t help but hurry him as he saw
him frozen staring into the nothingness for too long,
Zayne wanted to tell him to give up. Stop making both sides suffer anymore.
Jace waved his hands and said to Zayne, “Let me take a walk around. I’m not getting in the car yet.”
Salem City was an ancient city full of colonial buildings and exposed bricks. The city center is filled with
skyscrapers and multinational companies. It’s no wonder Sage was brought up well in a city like this.
Quite a few girls took photos of Jace as he strolled along the streets casually. “So handsome! Is he a
model? Or a celebrity? How come I don’t know of him?” asked a girl. “Look at his long legs. He must be
at least six feet two! So unfair to be tall and handsome! M y oh my,” said another,
Zayne and Jace’s bodyguard grew wary at the sight of the girls stalking him.
.
This is Salem, not Nadeem City. Their boss couldn’t keep a low profile with that face. Zayne just hoped
nothing bad would happent o Jace, or else he might get killed by Jace’s father.
Murphy’s law; anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Just as Jace walked into a quiet lane and prepared to look at an interesting ancient house’s wall, a few
guys dressed in full black came out of nowhere. They wrapped a gunny sack on his head and started
punching him.
Meanwhile, Sage’s felt a migraine coming up on the way home.
She couldn’t help but replay the words Jace said to her, “Can we start over?” no matter how hard she
tried.
Sage pulled down the window for a fresh breath of air to help clear her mind.
She’s couldn’t understand what he felt as he said it. However, she couldn’t trust him anymore for a fact.
Even if she misunderstood him about the lady in the room, even it was all a mistake, so what?
They can never go back, ever.
She heard her phone ring. It was from Jace. She furrowed her brows, and thought for a second before
she picked up, “Yes, Mr. Yuriel?”
It was Zayne, in a panicked manner, “Mrs. Sage, Mr. Yuriel was assaulted!” Sage expressions
tightened as she asked, “Where are you guys now? I’m on my way!
