The car finally pulled over at Tasteful Restaurant.
Holding an umbrella for Sage, Ross walked into the restaurant with her.
From afar, it looked like a scene from a movie; Ross who wore a white long-sleeved tee, and Sage who
wore a long red dress, both walking under the rain.
Jim who served the dishes noticed Sage right away and a smile found its way onto his face. However,
his smile faded away slowly the moment he realized the man standing next to her, had his arm placed
around her shoulders. Ross handed the umbrella to a waitress and he noticed a tall-looking young lad
that stared at him. The gaze of the young lad was cold. Ross felt a sense of rivalry from the young lad.
Ross guessed who the young lad could have been when he heard Sage calling out to him, “Jim.” When
Sage called his name, the young lad immediately beamed and pulled into a wide grin.
The coldness in his gaze melted away and was replaced by warmth. He walked over to them. “Hey,
sis!” Ross arched one of his brows.
Sage gave a pat on Ross’s arm and said, “Let me introduce you to someone.”
Walking over to Jim, Sage then turned around to find that Ross still stopped at the same place with his
arms crossed as he studied the both of them.
“Ross, this is my pupil, Myles’s apprentice, Jim Sylas.” After introducing Jim, Sage was about to
introduce Ross when Ross said, “If he’s your pupil’s apprentice, shouldn’t he be addressing you as
ma’am or teacher or something else? Why is he addressing you as sis?”.
Jim and Sage were rendered speechless.
Sage felt her stomach drop. She suddenly remembered that Ross was especially particular with
seniority and having good manners. Ross must have been triggered by the fact that Jim addressed her
casually instead of addressing her properly. Sage hurriedly explained, “I asked him to do so since he’s
so young. I don’t want to be addressed as a madam. It makes me look old.”
Ross guessed that Sage had a lot of masters and apprentices, she might have lost track of how people
should be addressing her. “I don’t care how the school of Damiens teaches their apprentices, but if this
ever happens in the school of Samuels, he or she would be punished or even kicked out from the
family.” Ross did not even think of filtering his words nor did not care about Jim’s feelings. Sage, on the
other hand, was slightly annoyed. “Ross, don’t you bully my apprentice.”
Jim figured out that Ross and Sage shared quite a relationship, hence he did not dare to go against
Ross. Jim then greeted Ross, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Sir.”
Jim was the youngest of all of them. If he were to address Sage as madam, he would then have to
address Ross as Sir.
Ross ignored Jim and stared at Sage. “This guy has feelings for you, no?”
Sage was perplexed. “What are you going on about?”
Kane and Luther who sat upstairs overheard Sage’s cries and made their way downstairs.” We’ve been
waiting for you for hours. We thought you got lost on your way here!”
Luther, on the other hand, flew down the stairs and threw himself at Ross. “Ross! Come here and let
me kiss you!”
