He could not be trying to kill him right… Of course, Ross would not try to take Yoel’s life,
but he was definitely furious. When he decided to adopt Melody, he had prepared to raise Melody as
his own and was aware that she would eventually be married off somewhere when she grew up.
As Melody started maturing, Ross knew the day would come when he had to have a man-to man talk
with a stranger.
Ross did not expect the day to come so soon.
Generally speaking, Melody was seventeen years old and was way past the age of puberty. However,
she was actually considered to be a late bloomer.
Having a crush on a person was more than normal for her age.
It also didn’t help that the old lady at home always talked about early marriage. It was bound to affect
Melody’s views when it came to marriage, thinking that it was normal to fall in love early, get married
young, and bear children young. Ross had thought about entrusting that little troublemaker to a reliable
man, but he did not expect Melody would pick Yoel. “Mister Fulton,” Ross said calmly.
Droplets began forming on Yoel’s forehead as he poured a cup of hot tea for Ross and said with a
polite smile, “Dr. Samuel, please don’t refer to me as such. I should refer to you as ‘Uncle’ if we’re
following seniority, but I don’t suppose you’d like that.” “But if I refer to you as ‘Brother’, it wouldn’t be
appropriate, so I’ll call you ‘Dr. Samuel’, and you can call me by my first name.”
Yoel then added, “My name’s Yoel.” Ross looked at him quietly. He stared into his eyes and saw a pair
of eyes that had been through countless experiences with women, a pair of eyes so clear that it was
hard to figure out his real intention.
That fella looked like a timid and sloppy playboy, but from Ross’ understanding of the Fulton family, he
knew that it definitely was not easy growing up in such an environment.
The more unassuming he acted, the more dangerous he was.
“Yoel, do you like Melody?” Ross asked straightforwardly.
Yoel’s eyes sparkled, and he said, “Honestly, Melody is an adorable kid. Of course, I like her. But she’s
just too young. As shameless as I am, I wouldn’t want to take advantage of a girl like her.”
Ross raised his brow and questioned, “Oh?”
Yoel chuckled lightly, “Dr. Samuel, I understand your concerns. Everyone knows I’m a playboy. I’d
usually stay away from a good and proper lady because I don’t like trouble. Especially someone like
Melody, forget about the whole of Mostal. Even Sage is someone I’d stir clear from, which is why I
escaped to Nadeem City, to run away from your daughter. I just didn’t expect her to come all the way
here for me. I’m still shocked…” Ross looked at him suspiciously. “You thought about it very thoroughly,
didn’t you?” “Of course, I have to think about the pros and cons when it comes to things like this, or I
wouldn’t have survived to this day.”
Yoel smiled lightly and poured Ross another cup of tea. “In conclusion, you don’t have to worry about
me. The only person you should be worried about is your daughter. I promise to stay far away from her
and won’t approach her by myself.” Yoel continued , “However, if she comes onto me and forces
herself on me, I may be able to fend her off once or twice, but I can’t promise you that I won’t
eventually give in since I was never a proper gentleman.” Yoel took a sip of the tea and smiled
artificially at Ross. Ross’ eyes turned icy cold in an instant as the surrounding air froze.
