When they arrived at Yuriel Treasure Museum, Sage got out of the car first.
The blazing sun outside was too hot. Sage did not plan to wait for Jace, so she walked in first. Jace
found a place to park the car. As soon as he unfastened his seatbelt, his head felt dizzy.
Recently, he often felt dizzy. He occasionally had a headache and felt nauseous too.
When did this start?
He could not remember. Did it start after his divorce from Sage? Was it the time when he saw Sienna
taking pictures with different men at the wedding? Otherwise, was it when he learned the truth… the
cruel truth. Now, a wave of disgust would drown him whenever he saw Sienna or heard the mention of
her name.
It turned out that love would disappear with time. His love for Sienna had disappeared like that. Was it
the same for Sage too?
There was a beautiful courtyard in the back of the Yuriel Treasure Museum. It was Mendoza’s
residence.
Jace had someone tidy up a few residences. He had converted them into studios for the jade carving
masters. They installed a variety of tools and machines in it. It was small but complete.
Wayne was wearing his specially-made protective suit in the studio. He led a group of jade carving
masters and worked attentively. Mendoza did not take part in it. He sat on the rattan chair leisurely
while enjoying the snacks and tea. When he saw Sage coming, he lazily greeted her, “You’re here.”
Sage said hello and glanced over at the jade pieces placed on the workbench. She did not plan to look
at them at first, but she was distracted. When she saw a nice jade, she froze, unable to look away.
Wayne was drawing on the jade with a brush in his hand. He worked attentively. When he glanced up,
he saw his granddaughter staring intently at the jade pieces on the workbench. She looked hungry like
the wolf and was tempted to work on the jade.
He greeted her in a low voice, “Sage.”
“Yeah,” Sage answered softly, but she was mesmerized and unable to look away from the purple jade.
She kept staring at the jade for a long while. When she finally moved her gaze away, she glanced up to
see Wayne’s teasing eyes full of smiles. She was embarrassed by her actions and walked over to greet
him softly, “Grandpa.”
Jace stood at the door and watched all of Sage’s reactions earlier.
A faint smile appeared as his mouth curved into a smile unknowingly.
Wayne did not mind Sage at all. He took a brush from the workbench and gave it to Sage.”
Come and help me. You can draw some mountains, branches, flowers, or anything. It’s all up to you.”
“Oh.” Sage mindlessly accepted the brush and stood next to Wayne. She casually drew a few pine
branches and soon filled the canvas with them. After she finished the drawing, she finally realized what
she had done. “Grandpa, please ask Grandpa Mendoza for help instead.” Before she could pass the
brush to Mendoza, Wayne stopped her. He snorted, “Don’t give it to him. He sucks.” Sage was lost for
words. Mendoza’s eyes flashed with anger. He straightened his back and wanted to refute him, but he
noticed the warning look on Jace’s face and slowly fell back. “Yes, I suck.” Wayne was confused. What
was Mendoza doing? Why did he accept it and not fight back? Why did he give up so quickly? Sage felt
helpless. She had not painted or carved anything with her grandfather for a long time, so she felt
tempted. At last, she completed the purple mountain scene with Wayne.
Jace came over before she realized it and rolled up his sleeves. “Do you need any help?” Sage
glanced at the black shirt on him. Then, she realized why he was wearing this on such a hot day. It
turned out that he was waiting for his opportunity. “No, thanks.”
