Laura shook her head and leaned against the window. “I don’t know, but it’s fun to be with
him. We can’t stop talking, and he’s very accommodating to me. He’s not like Jace and Yoel, who
always bicker with me.”
When she thought of Kane’s silly face, she could not help but smile sweetly.

Sage took a photo of her.
“Why did you suddenly take a photo of me?” Laura said, “I didn’t get to pose.” “That’s what I’m looking
for.”
Sage gestured for her to come over. “Come and see.”
Laura walked over and saw her silly look on Sage’s phone. It was unbelievably embarrassing. “I look
like a fool. Delete it…”
Sage looked at her. “Do you know what I see?”
Laura was puzzled.
Sage continued, “I see a woman in love.”
Sage said, “If you don’t believe me, take a good look at Leah. She smiles like this every day, just like a
silly girl.”
“If you put it that way…” Laura observed her photo and thought about Leah’s smile. “The resemblance
is quite strong.”
She was surprised at herself. “Oh, dear. Am I in love with Kane?”
Sage said, “Don’t doubt yourself. You are.” Laura digested her discovery and snorted. “I can’t believe it!
My heart has finally bloomed! I actually fell in love with a man!”
Sage was amused at her serious sentiments. She turned on her computer and tapped on the keyboard
for a while, then opened a photo album.
“Here’s Kane’s photo album from childhood to adulthood. You can sit down and take your time to look
at it. I’ll get back to work. I’ll take you to dinner later.”
Laura gave an okay gesture and said, “Go, Pika!”
Kane’s photos from childhood to adulthood were shown on the screen. It was from when he was a
newborn, a few months old, and a few years old. There was a new photo from every different month.
“Kane looked like this when he was a kid. He looks like a skinny monkey. So ugly. Hahaha…”
Laura was looking at Kane’s photos, laughing. She was completely unaware of the pair of eyes
watching them across the building.
A bearded man with thin lips was watching their office through binoculars. His mouth was set in a tight
line as he slowly ordered, “Make the arrangement.”
At the same time, in the hospital ward.
Jace sat on the bed and flipped through the documents about an international mercenary named Jekyll.
Jekyll, male, mixed blood, and the leader and the most dangerous member of the International
Mercenary Corps. He was once captured by Interpol and then escaped from prison. Ten years ago, he
died in Yathein, but the cause of his death was unknown…
Jace’s eyes were cold as he skimmed through the file. He read through Jekyll’s life as if he was reading
a biography.
Strangely enough, when they received the SSS-level mission in the jungle ten years ago to rescue
Sage from the mercenaries, the leader was not Jekyll.
When he went in to save Sage, they killed all the mercenaries present. Jekyll was not there. Otherwise,
did he change his identity? Was there another group of people who wanted to kidnap Sage? Why did
so many dangerous people target Sage? What kind of secrets did she have? Jace massaged his
temple and leaned against the bed. Sage was a huge mystery to him. The more he learned about
Sage, the more mysterious she became.
A thought flashed in his mind. Jace opened his eyes, and his heart sank.
Did she choose to change her identity to marry him because she was afraid of bringing him danger?
Was that the case?
