Jace got into his car after leaving the hospital.
He grabbed the hairpin in his hand and caressed the beautiful and dense rose carving on it. He also felt
Sage’s beautifully carved name on the hairpin and could not stop touching it.
A smile surfaced on his face unknowingly.
He finally had something that belonged to her. It was just a small hairpin, but it reminded him of her
warmth because of the carvings she personally made on it.
Zayne sat in the front passenger seat and answered a call. He wanted to inform Jace about something
and turned back. However, he was met with a silly looking Jace that was staring at a hairpin.
Zayne pressed his lips.
Jace just used a priceless antique to exchange for an ordinary wooden hairpin. It was clearly a loss-
making trade, but he looked so happy. Love really made people silly.
“Mister Jace.” Zayne did not want to spoil his good mood, but he had to say something to him.
“Say it,” Jace answered with a faint voice.
“We’ve found Miss Sienna’s whereabouts. She’s currently detained at the police station’s branch
office.”
Jace looked up, revealing a dark gaze.
He gripped the wooden hairpin in his hand. The memories of when he finally found Sage, the exploding
car, and the sea of fire flashed before his eyes. Ravage flames of fury were burning in his dark eyes.
After a long silence, Jace said grimly, “Let’s go to the branch office.”
Sage got the news about the same time as Jace.
Luther answered the phone and they spoke for a while. At last, he informed Sage, “We found Sienna.
Just like you said, she was left behind. That man didn’t take her with him.”
Sage sat cross-legged on the hospital bed and stretched with an expressionless face.
“She thought she found great support, but she didn’t know it was a bigger trap. She was baited into a
bigger plan. She must have thought too highly of herself.”
Originally, Sage thought her meeting with Sienna in the club was just coincidental. She later found out
that it was, in fact, not a coincidence. Laura and Sage went in the wrong direction because of the
directory sign that deliberately showed the wrong way. This meant that someone intentionally wanted to
lead them to the outdoor pool and put on a show for them.
Sage and Laura accidentally ran into Sienna and saw her intimate affair with others. She was afraid
that they would tell Jace about it and ruin her image in front of him, so she would not let them go easily.
With this play laid in motion, Mister Jekyll could reasonably abduct them. The story would
seem logical.
He included Laura in his plan because Laura took part in the jungle mission back then too. Why would
Mister Jekyll let her go?
He was not seriously after their lives. Otherwise, he would not have left three rookies in another car
and allowed them to escape easily. His real goal was to announce his return. Jekyll was not dead. He
came back!
After a long discussion, Sage and Laura connected all the dots and came to this conclusion.
“Yeah,” Luther sneered, “Maybe Sienna thought she found herself a wealthy man from the love affair.
Once she has him, she won’t worry about her life anymore. Did she even use her brain to think about
the consequences? What a pig. Even if it’s a gift from heaven, why will it be hers?”
The way Luther described Sienna as a pig…
Sage gave him a look and had to comment, “Hey, stop insulting the pig, okay?” Pigs were innocent and
deserved better recognition.
Luther snorted.
Sage stretched and did a split. Then, she asked Luther, “Where’s Sienna now?”
Luther answered, “She’s arrested and detained at the Looming branch office. I think she’s going to
meet her aunt soon. Both of them are amazing. I don’t know what’s going on in their heads. I can only
describe it with a line. If you don’t look for trouble, you won’t die.” Sage folded her arms behind her and
stretched them. She frowned slightly. Then, she relaxed her arms and sat upright. She suddenly called
out his name softly, “Luther…” Luther fell silent in shock. Her sudden coy voice scared him so much
that his hand trembled and almost he almost dropped his phone. His eyes widened in fear as he stared
at her in disbelief.
