Yeva was rendered speechless.
Watching Sage as she walked away with graceful strides, Yeva, who was burning with jealousy, gritted
her teeth.
Things had always been this way since they were young. Sage had always gotten whatever she
wanted without even having to ask while Yeva had to settle for Sage’s castoffs.
However, Yeva’s father was the chairman of Norah Group, and she was supposedly the rightful heiress
of the Norah family, not Sage. At the thought of this, Yeva hated the fact that she had to tiptoe around
Sage, and she swore to herself that she would no longer allow this to continue.
As soon as Sage walked out of Rosa Garden, she realized that Luther was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, a silver Porsche was parked i n front of the gate, and she saw Julian getting out of the car.
“Julian!” Yeva was filled with emotion when she saw her boyfriend, and she began running toward him
with open arms. She had even deliberately bumped Sage’s shoulder as she ran past her.
Caught off guard by Yeva’s sudden “attack”, Julian lost his balance and stumbled a few steps
backward, crashing against his car. Yeva’s head accidentally bumped against his jaw, causing him to
bite his tongue. At that moment, Julian felt everything go black.
Sage could not hold back a chuckle at the sight of the ridiculous interaction between the lovebirds.
“Julian, are you alright?”
Yeva did not expect Julian to be that weak. She quickly checked on him.
Julian, whose tongue was still smarting, could not make a sound. Frustrated, he shoved Yeva aside
and tried to ease the pain in his tongue. Looking up, Julian was stunned to see Sage.
The long red satin dress accentuated Sage’s slender figure. She looked elegant and sophisticated. She
looked especially sexy with the off-shoulder design of the dress, emphasizing her well-defined
collarbone. She was radiant under the faint yellow glow of the streetlights.
She was breathtakingly stunning.
Julian found that he was unable to look away from Sage.
Yeva, who was standing right next to Julian, was brimming with jealousy and anger when she noticed
her boyfriend, who had not even taken a good look at her, staring at Sage. She tumed Julian to face
her.
“Julian, did you not see me? I’m right here! So, how do I look this evening?”
Lifting the hem of her dress, she twirled like a princess. She waited in excitement for Julian to
compliment her dress. Looking at
Julian, she noticed that he looked at her with disdain.
Crossing his arms in front of his chest and leaning against the car, Julian started complaining, “How
many times do you need me to remind you to stop wearing navy. You are tanned! Do you really think
that you look good in this color? Besides, why are you still wearing this kind of puffy dress at your age?
Mind you, you’re not eighteen anymore.”
Julian continued criticizing Yeva. With her head hung low, Yeva’s eyes reddened.
Yeva was aware that she was not pretty. She had never been as pretty as Sage.
Sage had fair skin while Yeva was dark skin.
Yeva had tried every method that she could get her hands on to lighten her skin, but nothing worked.
Sage was 168cm tall and had a slim and slender figure while Yeva was only 158cm tall. She had been
this tall in high school. She had not grown since then.
Yeva had always thought that life had always been unfair to her. Sage had always been the white swan
while she was the ugly duckling. However, Yeva had always believed that one day the ugly duckling
would turn into a white swan.
Seeing how Julian was throwing criticisms at Yeva with no intentions of stopping, Sage started feeling
uncomfortable. She was getting irritated that Julian was belittling his girlfriend and was stepping on her
confidence. “Say, did you perhaps forget to brush your teeth today? I can smell your bad breath all the
way here.”
