The car slowly made its way to Rosa Garden. Sage had just sent another message to
Jace. Then, she saw a row of luxury cars parked in the large and spacious courtyard. Her brothers
were not the only ones who came, their fathers had arrived too.
They were all here?!
Sage‘s heart skipped a beat as she followed Wayne and Ross out of the car and walked inside.
When the door opened, Luther walked out and greeted them with a worried look on his face.” You‘re
finally back! Come in!” Sage was nervous. When she stepped in, the first thing she smelled was the
scent of blood.
It was not very heavy, and it seemed to be deliberately masked by the smell of tobacco and alcohol.
Even so, Sage noticed the smell of the blood at once and her heart pounded worriedly.
Her fathers were in the living room too. Her second father Connor Hudson, third father Rowan Hector,
fifth father Sergio Bennett, and even eldest father Senior Shelby were here! There were a few people
who were drinking and chatting as if nothing had happened. “Yo, Sage is back.” When they saw
Wayne, they all stood up to salute and greet him. Sage greeted them one by one. Before she could ask
why they were all gathered here, she heard a scream from the side hall.
“Mom! Be gentler! It hurts!” Kane cried out in pain.
Sage‘s pupil shrank. She rushed there almost immediately. When she pushed open the door and saw
the scene inside, she froze at the door.
Finally, she knew where the smell of blood was coming from.
Originally, this side hall in Rosa Garden used to be a ward. It had not been used for many years until
now.
She looked around and to her sight, she saw her father Sawyer, her eldest brother Tim, and her second
brother Kane. All of them were shirtless and either lying on the operating table or sitting on the chair.
They were all injured.
Kane could be seen on the operating table. He seemed to have a stab in the belly. The operation
looked like it was almost done. Primrose could be seen stitching him up while Seth was holding onto
his shoulder down to keep him still,
Luther hurriedly rushed over to help too.
The moment Ross entered the room, he immediately went to help Primrose after he sanitized his
hands and put on medical gloves. Her fourth father, Mason, was treating Tim‘s wound. He had a long
gash in his arm that required stitches too. He also had a thick bandage wrapped around his left
shoulder.
Nigel stood beside and assisted his father.
Everyone looked badly injured. It looked like this operation was a difficult one. “Sage, you‘re back.” It
was Sawyer that spoke first. Sawyer‘s injuries had been already treated. He sat aside with his arm in a
sling and an IV in the back of his other hand. He looked pale but happy to see Sage‘s arrival. He smiled
and waved at her.
“What are you doing there? Don‘t you recognize your own father? Come here.” His voice was
indescribably mellow and soft.
“Dad!” Sage called out with a crying voice and ran towards Sawyer. She wanted to hug him so much,
but she dared not to because of his injuries.
As soon as she came up to him, Primrose‘s cold voice came from behind. “You can just stare at each
other. Forget about the hug, as long as you don‘t hurt each other.” Her tone was annoyed because
Sage only greeted Sawyer but not her. Sage stopped right in front of Sawyer.
Her father‘s left arm was bandaged like a one–armed warrior.
“Dad.” Sage squatted down and called him sweetly. Her eyes were teary. She looked at Sawyer‘s
injuries and was heartbroken. Sawyer sighed and hinted at her with a look. “Don‘t just greet me. Greet
your mom too.” Sage finally turned her head to Primrose, who was busy working and spoke, “Mom.”
“It‘s too late.”
Primrose did not even look up. “I can‘t hear you! Sage was left speechless.
