Sage had great fun and came home tired. After getting out of the car, Sage and Nigel walked home

with heavy footsteps. “Girl, you’re weak.” Nigel paced steadily and smirked at Sage. “You must have

been busy making money in the past few months. Are you lacking exercise?” Sage glared at him in

annoyance. “Hey! I’m wearing high heels! Try walking in these heels!” Nigel snorted softly and said, “It’s

not like I haven’t worn it before.”

Sage was stunned. She raised her eyes and looked at him meaningfully. Suddenly, she exclaimed,

“You have an interesting taste.”

That made Nigel speechless.

As soon as she said that, Nigel raised his hand and hit her head. He corrected her, “I mean the height

insoles in my shoe. Girl, what the h*ll are you thinking about? Did you read too much erotica?”

Sage rubbed her forehead and muttered, “You aren’t short. Why are you wearing that to increase your

height?”

“You won’t understand. For men, wearing insoles to increase height is just as important as high heels

to you. The way you dress will shape your image.” As Nigel spoke, he looked down and saw that

Sage’s heel was hurting after walking. He frowned and bent down. “Come up. I’ll carry you on my

back.” “No need. It’s just a few steps away.”

Sage slapped him on the back and pointed to herself. “I’m wearing a dress. It’s inconvenient.”

Nigel even considered carrying her in his arms, but she refused with a serious face. “I want to maintain

a good relationship with Sean.” “Are you afraid that he will be jealous?”

Nigel found it hilarious. “We aren’t as intolerant as you imagined.” Sage curled the corners of her lips in

disapproval with thoughts to herself, ‘Nigel must have forgotten about his lessons. Did he forget how it

was to be subjected to constant lectures? He was daring enough to test Sean’s limits.’

After crossing the bridge, the two of them were surprised to see the lights in the house were on. It was

turned off when they left.

Nigel and Sage looked at each other. “Is Sean back?” As they pushed open the door, Puffy wagged its

tail and rushed up to Sage, not Nigel. After a night, it liked Sage more instead of its owner. Sage picked

up Puffy. Meanwhile, Nigel behaved just like his fur baby. He was pleasantly surprised to see Sean.

“Why did you come back early? Are you done with work?” Sage felt speechless seeing Nigel so excited

and animated to see Sean. Nigel’s usually smart image was… She held Puffy in her arms and silently

petted its head. Suddenly, she felt pitiful for the little guy. No wonder it was so fat.

Sean was home not long ago. He only took off his suit jacket and was still wearing a black shirt.

He had a calm and restrained demeanor. His eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses appeared slightly

tired, but his face remained gentle.

He raised his hand and patted Nigel’s head like a child. He also wore a Rolex watch on his wrist. He

answered him in a comforting tone, “I’m done with work, so I came home early.” Then, he turned to

Sage and greeted her. “Sage. It’s rare for you to visit Brown City. Enjoy yourself here.”

Sage greeted him with an obedient smile, “Hello, Sean.” “Hm,” Sean replied with a gentle hum. He had

always treated Sage like his own sister. “Make yourself comfortable at home.”
