“Well, that would be good too,” Yoel replied back.
Sage yelled, “Scram!”
Yoel got scared and pulled Jim over to hide behind him. “You should be worried if you can find a
husband with that bad temper of yours,” Yoel continued to infuriate Sage while just showing only his
head while hiding behind Jim.
Sage glared at him fiercely. Yoel immediately ran away while shouting, “It’s okay. I like that fiery temper
of yours. If you ever think about having a reverse harem, don’t forget to invite me. I don’t mind sharing
you with other men.”
This time, Sage was so angry that she failed to find words to refute back. She really did think that
maybe, just maybe, there was something wrong with Yoel’s brain. If she ever had a reverse harem, the
first person she would turn into a eunuch would be Yoel.
Seeing that angry face, Jim thought it was best for him to leave and continue his work back at the
restaurant. The only one left was Jace, the bravest of all.
“Is Grandpa ok?” he asked lightly.
After being irritated by Yoel, Sage felt like there was a fire burning inside of her body, and there was no
place to vent it out. She remembered that Jace lent a helping hand to her grandfather, and she
forcefully suppressed her anger. She answered, “He’s doing fine. It’s just that he is getting old and can’t
tolerate any stress.”
Speaking of which, a question she forgot to ask previously popped back into her mind, “Why were you
there in Rosa Garden? Zamora said you requested to meet with Grandpa?”
Jace knew that Sage would definitely ask this question, and he did not intend to hide it from her either.
“Yes, I was there as Mister Mendoza’s apprentice to visit Mister Wayne. I was hoping he would agree to
a collaboration.”
Sage squeezed her eyebrows tightly.
After finishing the food delivered by Jim, Sage asked Wayne about the collaboration Jace mentioned.
Wayne said, “Technically speaking, there are many connections between Jace and me. Not only is he
Mendoza’s apprentice, but he is also Simon’s grandson. He is my grandson, literally.
Even though Wayne had always shared the story about his past, it was the first time Sage had heard
about this.
“Back in the days, Mendoza, Simon, and I had a common interest and became best buddies. We were
like brothers from another parent, so we formed a group known as The Three Musketeers of Peach
Garden. I am good with carving, while Mendoza is good with appraising and Simon is good at doing
business. Three of us were afraid of nothing and took our business everywhere. Everyone in the
antique business knows about us, but we also offended quite a lot of people while doing business. So
there was a time when we had to hide to avoid confrontation. Thinking back, I could only say we were
all too young at that time.”
Wayne continued to lament, “Now we are old and near to the end of our life. It would be good if we
could still meet with each other before we lose our mobility. My life would be complete il I could produce
a few masterpieces in this world, He told Sage everything, the reason face came looking for him, the
collaboration and the repairing of the broken jade project “I’m not sure if it would collide with your
project.” In the end, Wayne still cared more about his granddaughter. “I know that Yuriel Group and
Norah Jewel are competitors. If this project would cause damage or affect you, I will reject it.” Sage had
always known that Wayne was still passionate about jade carving, and he had been focusing on
repairing broken and damaged jade in his later life. Clearly, Wayne was moved by Jace’s proposal.
“That sneaky dog. He must have known about Grandpa’s past from Mister Mendoza. That’s why he
had come out with the project to repair broken jade so Grandpa would fall into his trap. I guess Jace
must have taken into consideration the suggestion I told Helena previously. Moreover, a project like
repairing broken jade will definitely help shape the corporation’s image. “Go ahead. It’s fine. Their
project will not clash with Noral Jewel.” Sage wanted Wayne to do the things he wanted without having
any regrets.
“Then I’ll promise him on the collaboration.” Wayne felt a sigh of relief, but looking at Sage’s
expression, he felt that something was wrong. “Hey Sage, have you and Jace known each other for
many years? I felt that both of you are a good match and your characteristics…”
“You must have felt wrong. Both of us are not a good match, and we can’t stand each other.” Sage was
determined to stop Wayne from matching her up with Jace. She wiped her mouth with a wet tissue and
said, “Our fate in this life is over. There will be no us in the future.”
“What do you mean by in this life?” Wayne felt weird with the sentence and became a curious cat
again. “Were you both together before? And has separated?” “We weren’t together, and we didn’t
separate.” Wayne was slightly relieved. “I see.” “We divorced,” Sage revealed the truth like it was
nothing important. “Grandpa, Jace is my ex-husband.” ‘What? Ex-husband? The truth came too
suddenly that Wayne felt his heart skip a beat.
