It was another night of chaos in the eventful year.
Wilson and Missus Jefferson stood in front of the operating room, looking anxious.
They could hear Julian’s constant screams coming out of the room. Missus Jefferson felt nothing but
heartache. She kept sobbing and crying, “My son…” Wilson was annoyed, listening to her constant
sobbing. He walked back and forth with his hands on his back. He impatiently stopped her, “Come one.
Our son is not dead yet. Why are you crying so much!”. “He’s my dearest child. Can’t I feel pain for
him?”
Missus Jefferson sobbed. The more she thought of it, the more she could not accept it. “Say, isn’t Sage
vicious? She beat Julian up and even broke his hands. Why can’t we call the police?” “Do you think I
don’t want to? Don’t you see what your son has done to her sister?”
Wilson’s face turned icily cold. He exhaled, “I knew this jerk is up for no good. He said he was going to
get back together with Yeva. I thought it was a good thing. If they do get back together, we’re still in-
laws with the Norah family. Sage won’t be too hard on us for Yeva’s sake. Maybe she’ll even let us off
the hook. But how dare he beat Yeva and kill the baby in her womb…”
Having said that, Wilson really wanted to drag his son out of the operating room and berate him. “Don’t
mention Sage. Even I want to beat him!” “Whose father are you? Why are you siding with the
outsider?” Wilson did not like hearing that. He sided with his son, “I know Julian’s character. He’s like a
sheep. He’ll never lose his temper if we talk to him nicely. Yeva must have said something unpleasant
to him. He was angry, so he beat her. Also, we haven’t tested the amniotic fluid DNA. We don’t know
whether the child in Yeva’s belly is our grandson. It’s probably not.”
“What if it is our grandson?”
Wilson became furious again. “Don’t take your son’s side at all times! You’ve been spoiling him and
made him like this! You pamper him too much!” The old couple was talking and quarreling again. The
nurse came out and reminded them with a frown, “This is the hospital. Please stay quiet.”
Wilson was so angry that he was starting to feel dizzy. He sat down on the stool and waved his hand. “I
don’t waní to argue with you anymore. When Julian comes out, we must force him to apologize to the
Norah family. We must not make this a big deal.”
“Why should we apologize? Why us?”
Missus Jefferson widened her eyes in anger. “Sage is the one who beat our son! I’m kind enough not to
demand an apology from her! How dare she demand our apology! Impossible!”
“You… You fool!”
Wilson’s head was hurting. He massaged his temple and said in exhaustion, “The Norah
family isn’t the same family from three months ago. Sage is no longer the naive little princess
we knew three years ago. Just look at her. Don’t you feel scared looking at her?” “She only took three
months to do it. I didn’t hear the news at all, but she built a horse farm with the Yuriel family’s eldest
son from Nadeem City and the Fulton family’s young master from Riverside City. Missus Jefferson
became interested when she heard Wilson mention the horse farm. “Are you talking about the horse
farm in the northern suburbs?! “Yeah.” Wilson nodded grimly. Missus Jefferson was displeased.
“Speaking of this, I’m furious. I originally invited a group of friends to play cards together. However,
none of them came. They say they’re going to have fun at the opening ceremony for the horse farm in
the northern suburb. They even ask if I . have an invitation, making me so embarrassed. Even Missus
Jone, who runs a firework business, is invited. I’m the chairman’s wife of the Jefferson Group, but I
wasn’t invited. How outrageous!”
Wilson gave her a mocking smile. ”You’re not the only one without the invitation. Look at me. I’m the
chairman of the Jefferson Group. Didn’t they leave me out too? Sage is clearly not taking us seriously.”
“I knew it. This little b*tch is too arrogant. Does she think that the current Salem City still belongs to the
Norah family? It has long belonged to the Jefferson family!”
Missus Jefferson’s face was full of disdain and arrogance. Wilson looked at his wife and had a big
headache. His dearest wife was still living her dream of the richest man’s wife. Little did she know that
he was no longer the richest man in Salem City. He was no longer rich and probably the poorest man in
Salem City, drowning heavily in debts. Julian’s hand was broken so badly that it took more than four
hours of surgery to fix him. Finally, he was pushed out of the operating room. After all, Julian was still
his son. He would be lying to say that he did not care about him.
