Sage always fulfills her promises.
The Yuriels were ecstatic that Sage would accept the task of being Jace’s companion, but at the same
time, they felt bad for troubling her. The Yuriels had arranged for two extra bodyguards and two extra
care workers to help Sage out.
Jace stayed in a very spacious single room.
The next day, Hunter knocked on his door early in the morning. “Sorry to bother you, Mister Jace.”
Hunter then ordered the men around, “Move them in now, be careful.”
Jace looked up and saw men in uniforms moving a foldable couch in.
Followed was an office table, an office chair, a laptop, table lamp, pen holder, bookshelf… All the
furniture and appliances filled up the corner of the room, occupying more than half of the room.
There was even a pair of stuffed rabbits just sitting around with a smile on their lifeless faces.
Jace was at a loss of words. Even the stuffed rabbits were in a pair. The movers left after moving
everything in. Hunter observed the room whilst checking the design draft that the designer provided
him, making sure everything matched.
He frowned and called Louis.
“The pen holder was in the wrong color. Miss Sage wanted it in a cream-white color, but the one you
got was in gray-white. Quickly and get the right one over before Miss Sage arrives. Be more mindful
with details!”
Hunter then hung up the phone, ensured the rest of the things matched, and eventually nodded with
satisfaction.
DOM.
After that, Hunter moved all the toiletries into the washroom. Upon coming out of the washroom and
seeing Jace’s expression, Hunter started explaining everything
“Don’t worry, Mister Jace. Miss Sage doesn’t plan on staying overnight while she’s here. These are
mainly for her during the day when she works.”
Hunter smiled and continued, “You know how particular she is with these things.”
Jace nodded in agreement. “I understand.”
Jace also noticed that he had little to no idea about Sage’s preferred styles and decorations. Back then,
in the Yuriel Mansion, Sage used to decorate the house with lots of warm-tone furniture. Because of
that, he always thought she liked girly and feminine things. However, aside from the two stuffed
bunnies, everything else she moved into the hospital room was minimalistic and metallic — a
thoroughly cold, industrial style.
It was pretty similar to Jace’s taste in design.
The fact that she moved her things meant that she had planned to stay for a long time. Jace was
pleased, and his usual cold and stoic expression had softened. He even invited Hunter to join him for
tea.
Louis, who hurried over to switch out the pen holder, was also invited to have tea with Jace.
“Oh my, that was close. Good thing we realized it before Miss Sage did. Or she might smash that pen
holder on my head.” Louis took a big gulp of the tea, feeling relieved. Jace raised his brows and asked,
“Is Sage really that scary?” Hunter and Louis looked up at Jace at the same time and said, “You can
remove the question mark and place ‘is’ between ‘really’ and ‘that’.”
Both Hunter and Louis also took that as an opportunity to complain about their boss. Hunter started
imitating Sage’s tone and movements. “Hunter, are you an idiot? You should stop telling people you’re
an honor student. Aren’t you embarrassed by yourself? How do you not know the difference between
‘net profit’ and ‘debt ratio? What exactly do I need you for?”
Louis followed right after Hunter was done.
“The most important thing is efficiency. Efficiency! What a bunch of lazy bum, you can be poor, but you
can’t be lazy. How are you going to get any girls if you’re lazy?!”
Louis took his glasses off, and his imitation was on point. Hunter did not stop there. He leaned back on
the chair and mimicked Sage’s cold disposition. “Are you done fighting? I can build you a boxing ring
right here in the office so you can both fight it off. You can even live stream it. You’d definitely make
more than you do now. Who’s up for it? Send me your resignation letter now.” Louis cleared his throat
and continued, “If you’re genuine about working with me, then put your whole back into it. If you’re able
to stay with me for a whole three years, I promise to grant you any opportunities you want. Do you want
to hop over to any of the top five hundred companies in the country? Go for it, I’ll write you a
recommendation letter. Do you want to start your own business? I’ll be your investor. But if you’re
disloyal, I’ll make sure you meet your maker.”
