Laura was rendered speechless by their childish bickering. Aside from that, it was a relief
that Jace finally regained his consciousness. The nurse checked on Jace and informed them that his
condition was much more stable. She also added that Jace needed to rest more, replenish his
nutrients, and take care of the surgery wound on his head.
Yoel and Laura fixed their gaze on Jace’s head.
“Miss, I have a question.”
The nurse turned to look at Yoel who was good-looking, blushed, and replied, “Yes?” Yoel asked, “Do
bald people need to wash their hair?” The nurse was baffled.
Laura cracked up. But to be fair, she thought of asking the same question too.

When the news of Jace regained his consciousness, the Yuriels immediately showed up at the hospital
to visit him. Freya’s eyes were red-rimmed. “Son, how are you feeling? Does your head hurt?”
Jace replied softly, “I’m fine, Mom.”
He then scanned the room. Not seeing Sage around, he asked, “Where’s Sage?” Zachary replied,
“Sage is kidnapped by the professors of this hospital.” At the mention of the words ‘kidnapped’, Jace
immediately frowned. “Cut the nonsense!” Faye hit her younger brother on his back and said to Jace,
“Sage was asked to give a talk by the professors. I think she’s still in the middle of the presentation.
She’ll drop by to check on you soon.”
Jace was rather startled. “A presentation?”
“Yeah. Why didn’t you tell us that Sage was Doctor Grace who saved you? She is the savior of our
family!”
Vere
Jace’s grandmother added, “And she’s saved you once again. You were badly injured this time, and if it
wasn’t for Sage, we wouldn’t know what else to do…”
Jace felt his stomach drop. “Sage operated on me?”
“Yes.”
With her eyes still red, Freya added, “You don’t even know how serious the situation was. The
neurosurgeons of this hospital were mostly out of town for a conference and some had a tightly packed
schedule and none of them were able to operate on you. I was so worried and I didn’t know if I should
transfer you to another hospital but at the same time, I was worried that we might miss the golden time
for the operation. Who knew that Sage was Doctor Grace!”
The Yuriels were still shocked by the fact that Sage was Doctor Grace.
That very year when Jace got into that terrible car accident, he was on the brink of death. He was
covered in blood all over and his bones were mostly crushed. Jace’s grandfather put all his connections
to work and hired every single neurosurgeon in Nadeem City to save him. But none of the
neurosurgeons dared to take the risk.
It was then that Doctor Grace showed up out of nowhere.
After operating on Jace, she then left Nadeem City without saying a word. The Yuriels were not able to
express their gratitude for her and it was always a regret for the family. Now that they knew that Sage
was Doctor Grace, Jace’s grandparents held Sage’s hands in theirs, with tears welling up in their eyes,
they said to Sage, “My child, how can we ever repay you? We’re deeply indebted to you.” Sage saved
Jace twice. “From today onwards, you’re the savior to the Yuriels.”
Standing in front of Jace’s bed, Jace’s grandfather said sternly, “I don’t care what you think or have to
say. Sage saved you twice. Twice! When you got into that accident, it was Sage who put your bones
back together; and this time, it was Sage who saved that clotted brain of yours! Aside from Sage, who
else can achieve this? Who else has the patience like she does?”
“Exactly!”
Jace’s grandmother added, “If Sage was our granddaughter, I would have kicked you out of the family
for what you’ve done to her those years! My blood boils whenever I think of how you divorced Sage just
because of that brat from the Zelda family! Tell me, who are you to deserve Sage?”
Jace’s grandparents criticized Jace whereas Faye and Zachary nodded their heads, agreeing with their
grandparents. “Exactly…” “Son, your grandparents speak on behalf of the rest of the family. We don’t
care if you don’t want to be one of the Yuriels anymore, but Sage must stay. I’d be happy if you get
back together with Sage, if not, I will treat Sage as my daughter.”
