Laura had sensed that someone was following her for a while. She was good at shaking them off
stalkers as well.
Recently, she was almost caught. Laura decided to run to Nadeem City to hide from them. She took a
break from the company, plus her injuries were not completely healed. Laura thought it was best to
avoid any trouble that would cause her to be demerited.
However, she never expected the stalker to have followed her all the way there! Have they got no
boundaries?
“No, I got the right gal,” said Kane with a determined yet unusual calm voice, with a tad mockery,
“Unless you weren’t the person who hit me when I was a kid?”
Laura almost lost it. She had punched so many people in her life, and they usually would not even go
near her. That was the first time someone came after her.
“Please, pal, that was ages ago. Why can’t you just let it go?”
Laura took a look at Kane’s face and that attitude. She knew he would not let her off the hook so easily.
“Fine. We’ll fight it out once and for all once I’m done with my treatment. Let it all out. I might even cry a
little.”
‘In my next life,’ Laura thought to herself.
Everyone looked in Kane’s direction and thought he would not go with the plan, but he said aloud,
“Fine.”
Huh?
Everyone thought that only Kane would do such a thing.
Laura and Yoel would not stop bickering the moment they met each other. Jace was unbothered by
their bantering as he kept all his attention on Sage’s hands. She carefully placed the needles
strategically into Laura’s body to relieve her aches and help with blood circulation.
Though Jace already knew that Sage was a doctor, he was still amazed every time he saw her treating
her patients with such serenity and focused manner. He felt like he had known Sage for more than a
lifetime.
The Sage in front of him seemed like she was from another multiverse, and they were in love and met
each other there as well.
Laura’s injuries were not made in a day. She needed multiple treatments combined with other healing
methods to heal faster. She was not particularly fond of hospitals, but she enjoyed Sage’s treatments
and grew to be less afraid of needles.
Kane looked at his sister and asked Sage, “Is she able to make a full recovery?”
Sage washed her hands under the running tap and laughed as she saw Kane’s worried expressions.
“Why do you care more than Laura herself?”
Kane glared at Sage and said, “None of your beeswax!”
Sage thought to herself and said, “She’ll be fine as long as you don’t pick a fight with her temporarily.”
Kane hurriedly said, “No, no. Who says I’m going to pick a fight with her?”
Laura heard that and immediately added, “Oh, now we’re not fighting? You don’t blame me anymore?
We’ll call a truce, then.”
“Who said that?” Kane turned around and said, “No way! We’re not done here.”
Laura was dumbfounded. Stingy man.
