Sage was taken aback and quickly got up from Jace’s body.
It was an awkward moment.
Sage still felt dizzy, and her face was paler than usual. She rubbed her forehead and rested for a while.
Jace saw how pale Sage was and asked worriedly, “Are you okay? Is your blood sugar level low
again?”
Sage put her hand down from her forehead and asked, “How did you know I have low blood
sugar?”
Sage did have low blood sugar, but she usually took care of herself and would rarely have an episode.
Sometimes when she was too exhausted, she would get dizzy and anxious, but carbs would normally
fix it.
Sage had no memories of having a low blood sugar episode in front of Jace before, how would he
know then?
“My mother told me,” Jace answered. Sage thought so as well. She remembered Freya was there three
years ago when she was taking care of Jace; she did have an episode and almost passed out.
Truth be told, if it was not for the rest of the Yuriel family who took care of her, she probably would not
have lasted three years. Jace pulled open his drawer and found some milk candies that Zachary left in
the room when he visited Jace. Those were the leftover candies that Zachary used to coax his girlfriend
with.
Zachary did not want to visit Jace empty-handed and decided to bring the candies over so they could
all relive their childhood’s favorite snack.

“Have some candies,” Jace said as he grabbed a handful of candy and put them in Sage’s hands.
Sage did not expect to see milk candies in the hospital room, it all made sense after finding out it was
from Zachary. She unwrapped one and tossed it into her mouth.
Sage felt immediately better after consuming some sugar as the blood in her face returned. She gave
the rest of the candies back to Jace and said, “Thank you.”
“Bring these with you.”
“It’s alright, they’re too sweet for me.”
Sage stuffed the rest of the candies back in Jace’s hands and left the room.
Jace watched as Sage left and looked at the candies in his hands, he tightened his grip, imagining that
those were gifted to him by Sage.
Freya and Aunt Wendy were waiting outside the room. Sage walked out and said to them, “Aunt Freya,
Aunt Wendy, you guys can go in now. I’m leaving.”
“Sage, hold up.” Freya grabbed Sage’s hand and stopped her from leaving. Freya then turned around
and said to Aunt Wendy, “Go ahead, Wendy. I’m just going to talk to Sage for a bit.” “Alright.” Wendy
smiled lightly as she pushed open the door and headed into the room with dinner and a change of
clothes. Sage wheeled Freya to a long bench. Freya’s usual serious and intimidating demeanor were
nowhere to be seen when she was with Sage. She smiled kindly at Sage and said, “Have a seat.” Sage
sat down on the bench and asked caringly, “How are your legs recovering, Aunt Freya?” “Pretty well.
The nerves are slowly recovering.” Freya had been feeling hopeful after knowing that it was possible
for her legs to recover, her complexion looked way better than before. A person’s mood could easily
affect their overall health. Once Freya started feeling better; her body would start getting better as well.
“Dr. Samuel is a very skillful doctor, but I heard that he’s leaving for Mostal with his daughter in a few
days. I’ve been considering moving there for a short while too. What do you think?” Freya treated Sage
as if she was her daughter and asked for her opinions. Sage thought for a brief moment before
answering, “I understand your concerns, your early treatments are more or less completed, what’s left
now is physical therapy. Any doctors from a health center would be able to take over the treatment.
Once Ross left, he’d definitely hand you over to his eldest disciple, Quest. Even though he’s pretty
young, but he’s a very skillful doctor, you don’t have to worry at all.” “Dr. Quest is easily one of the best
doctors within Nadeem City, I’m not worried at all.”
