After three years, they felt like it was an exciting war again. “Has everyone seen the news last night?
Sage sat at the main seat. A cup of unsweetened black coffee was served in front of her. It was hot and
steaming, but the bitterness was sobering.
Everyone nodded. “We’ve seen it.”
Jefferson Group had been in power for three years and finally declared bankruptcy. They rose so fast
and arrived at their fall. An era was over, and another era was about to start.
“I won’t speak too much about this. I’m sure everyone understands.”
Sage’s raspy voice was slow and soft. However, her presence in the meeting was simply reassuring
Finn was seated on Sage’s side. He looked at the confident Sage with admiration. He felt like Sage
was becoming more and more like the late chairman.
“Jefferson Group collapsed , leaving behind a big mess. Many companies want a share of the pie. I
have only one request.”
Sage looked down with a majestic gaze. “I won’t take any rotten pie, but if someone else took the better
slice of the pie, I’d grab it. Understand?”
Everyone was astonished. They got up, and all responded with joyful faces. “Understood!”
The marketing director was excited. “After suffering in the hands of the Jefferson Group for three years,
my time has finally come! I won’t let go of this opportunity! It’s time to work hard!”
The crowd was about to cheer, but Hunter coughed softly with his fist against his lips. The meeting
room fell silent at once.
“I’ve been away the last three years. I’ve put everyone through a lot of trouble.”
Sage drank a sip of coffee and continued, “Next, I’m going to go overseas for a market survey. In the
meantime, the group’s affair will be handed over to Mr. Janssen, the new CEO, and Mr. Grant, who’ll be
the vice CEO.”
Everyone applauded and congratulated Finn and Hunter on their promotions.
“I’ll leave you to the rest of the meeting.”
Sage took the coffee and left the meeting room.
The marketing director looked at Hunter and arched his brow. “Mr. Grant, will you say a few words?”
“Well, let me translate what Miss Sage just said.” Hunter cleared his throat and imitated Sage’s look
and accent. “I’ve put everyone through a lot of sh*ts in the last three years. So, for the coming days,
we’ll…” He curled his lips into a wicked smile and slammed the table violently. “We’ll make them pay
for what they’ve done! Time for vengeance and revenge! Everyone, let’s do it!” “Oh, yay!” The meeting
room was suddenly abuzz with excitement.
Finn watched them having fun and smiled helplessly. The moment Sage had left, the monkeys turned
to have fun again.
In the hospital ward. “D*mn. I’ve got a big hole in my underwear again!” Yoel rushed out of the
washroom, cursing, and ran to the bed to show Jace the ruined underwear. Jace took a glance and
looked away. “Again?” His one-worded reply seemed meaningful. “How many has it been? I’ve
changed a bunch of them, okay?! Melody is so scary. No, this won’t do. I have to cleanse myself from
the curse!”
Yoel was so upset. “Hey. Do you have any new ones? Give me one.”
“In the suitcase. You can find it yourself.”
Yoel pulled out a pair and was about to take off his pants. Jace did not even look up and warned, “Go
to the washroom and change!”
“What’s wrong with me changing here? It’s not like you haven’t seen it before.” Jace glanced up coldly.
“Fine. I’ll change in the washroom.” Yoel snarled in disdain, “Tch. So particular.” As soon as Yoel came
out after changing, his phone rang. It was his father who called. After a short conversation, Yoel
suddenly screamed.
“What? You want me to accompany you to Mostal?!”
He just kept wailing. The man, on the other hand, scolded him and hung up before Yoel could even
speak.
Yoel’s mouth twitched. He collapsed on the sofa in despair and groaned, “Am I going to die?” Jace
could not help but laugh. “It seems like your fate doesn’t end here yet. Accept your fate.”
Yoel was angry to see Jace gloating at him. He said through clenched teeth, “How’s your fate with
Sage? She’s going to Yathein, but are you going?”
The smile on Jace’s face faded, and his hand with the book stiffened. His answer was concise.
