Sage knitted her brows into a frown. “And what have I done to you last night?”
Jace furrowed his brow and his expression looked as if his heart had been shattered into a million
pieces. It was as though she was trying to deny what had happened last night.
Sage was puzzled.
Could it be that she really did something to him?
What could she have done to a tall and strong-build man like him?
Sage was doubting that Jace was making a scene out of nothing and was trying to put the blame on
her for something that he had done.
After having a staredown contest with each other for several seconds, and just when Sage was ready
to launch her verbal attacks at Jace, Jace suddenly flipped the covers open, revealing his body to her.
Sage was about to close her eyes but she froze instead.
Did she do these to him?
Of course, Sage had seen his body before.
When he was bedridden, Sage was his caretaker and she was the one who helped clean his body. One
might say that Sage was familiar with Jace’s body more than Jace’s mother did.
This piece of work, however, was something that she had never seen before.
Jace’s body was covered with bruisés, scratches, and bite marks, and this evidence all pointed toward
Sage as the culprit.
Sage’s pupils shook: “… did all these?”
“What do you think?” Jace looked as if he was wronged. “Aside from me and you, who else was in this
room?”
Sage took a scan around the room. Indeed, there was no one else.
Jace was extremely irritated by how she was really-checking if there was another person. Last night,
she had smeared his reputation by saying that he enjoyed dating two people at once, and now…
What did Sage really think of him?
Sage was trying to regain her composure when her phone suddenly rang. She was about to reach for
her phone when she realized that she was not wearing anything. Tightening the covers around her, she
inched toward the bedside table, reached for her phone, and answered the call.
“Hey, Luther.”
She was about to ask Luther what exactly happened last night and why did they allow her to leave with
Jace.
On the other end of the call, the said person sounded anxious, “Sage, where were you last night? Don’t
tell me you and Jace are in a hotel together? Kane has been looking for you all over town when he
could not find you in Rosa Garden. He is literally hunting for Jace right now!”
Right then, someone kicked the door of the suite. Kane was hammenring frantically on the door.
“Open up the door! Jace Yuriel, I know that you’re in there! I want to see Sage!
“Open up the door right now before I go in there and tear you into pieces!”
Jace’s face darkened and he was about to get off the bed when Sage stopped him and shot him a
glare. “Stay here. Don’t come out until I say so.”
Sage got off the bed, put on a shower robe, and walked towards the door.
Before Kane prepared to barge in, the door was opened, revealing Sage’s face. “Kane, it’s early in the
morning, what are you doing here?”
Kane’s eyes tumed bloodshot at the sight of Sage in a shower robe. He pushed her inside and closed
the door behind them. He hten pulled out a gun and pointed it at Jace, which was currently laid in bed.
“You sick bastard, how dare you lay your hands on my sister?!”
