Sage’s eyes widened upon hearing the word ‘grandpa’. “Grandpa will be attending your
wedding? Who told you that?”
Seeing how excited Sage got, Yeva became conceited. She hummed proudly, “I’m grandpa’s biological
granddaughter; of course, he’s coming to my wedding! I’ve sent my wedding invitation to him, and he
has accepted it. He’s definitely coming to wish me on my happiest day.”
Sage was about to ask more questions, but Yeva just wanted to wrap things up. “Anyway, I have a ton
of things to do. We’ll talk again soon. You should definitely come to the wedding with Leah. I might
even throw my bouquet toward your direction if I feel like it!” Yeva said proudly and hung up the phone
immediately.
Sage sat up straight.
Sage had announced her ‘Jade Master’ title for almost half a month, and Wayne had yet to say
anything about it. Will he really attend Yeva’s wedding?
That old man had never been a fan of such public events.
Sage called Hunter and had him track Wayne’s whereabouts. Hunter accepted the assignment and
went on to report another news to Sage.
Sage’s eyes sparkled as she chuckled lightly upon hearing the news.
“I guess I have no other choice than to go to the wedding. Something big is about to happen, and I’m
not going to miss it.”
Sage was not in a hurry at all. She realized that she might not be able to have a good meal during the
wedding ceremony, so she had a big breakfast with Leah at home.
They got a call from Braxton in the middle of their meal.
“Where are you guys?” Braxton sounded like he was trying to suppress his anger.
“We’re eating at home,” Sage answered.
“Eating?!”
Braxton raised his voice and yelled, “Do you realize what time it is now? Our hands are all tied up with
preparations, yet you’re enjoying a leisurely meal at home? You better come here before I get really
pissed off!”
“Piss off then. No one’s stopping you.” Sage munched on her butter croissant and said casually, “Uncle,
you haven’t fully recovered from your injury. You shouldn’t walk so much, or you might become
paralyzed. Better to use a wheelchair.”
Braxton was speechless.
Braxton had been in a wheelchair the whole time!
He was not young anymore. Getting beat up had caused him to break his lower back. He was
bedridden for more than a week. He did not intend on attending the wedding, but Yeva insisted and
ordered his caregiver to transfer him onto a wheelchair forcefully.
Yeva also threatened Braxton, “Dad, you better reconsider your decision. This is your precious
daughter’s once-in-a-lifetime event, and you’ll never get to see it again if you miss it. If you don’t attend
my wedding, don’t expect me to take care of you when you’re older. Remember that you only have
Julian and me in your life now.”
Braxton eventually went anyway despite his injury.
He had expected Sage and Leah to be there to help out, but they were nowhere to be seen. How
shameful was it to have that pathetic amount of family members from the bride’s side.
Sage chuckled in disdain and said, “The Norah family had always been a joke. Look at us. We have
brothers who stabbed each other’s backs! This was nothing compared to those.”
Braxton paused for a few seconds and responded, “I don’t understand what nonsense you’re
spewing… Just get over here quickly!”
He then hung up the phone with a loud thud.
Leah was able to overhear every single word from the phone call. She got a phone call from her own
father, Zane, shortly after that. It was the same thing all over again, ordering for them to be at the
venue as soon as possible.
Sage wiped her hands and stood up. The corner of her lips lifted slightly. “Now that we’ve filled our
tummies, let’s go. We have a show to catch.”
