Nigel never meant to hit her. Even if he did, he could never beat Sage in a fight.

They stopped playing around after a while. Sage was with Nigel at her parents’ shrine. Nigel stood up

from the chair and stared at Sage intently, caressing her head. “Are you afraid of living in Rosa Garden

all by yourself?” asked Nigel.

Sage shook her head. “Nope, we have many employees around here. I’ve got Leah with me now.

Nigel had a faint impression of Leah. “Our cousin?”

Sage nodded. “Yeah, her.”

“What about the evil moron?” asked Nigel.

Sage replied, “That’s Yeva, Braxton’s daughter.” “Oh, yes. Yeva. I heard she’s got quite a

blabbermouth. We’ve invented some new drugs made specifically to mute noisy insects. It’ll work on

humans too. Do you want some?” “I don’t think so. Thank you,” Sage replied as she thought about how

Nigel had turned rogue ever since he got together with Sean. “Yeva’s getting married soon. She’ll get it

from the Jeffersons once she’s officially part of their family.” Nigel looked at Sage and said, “Just don’t

let yourself get bullied, okay?” He pinched Sage’s cheeks and added, “Us siblings can never be

wronged. I’ll cut anyone with a scalpel if they mess with you.” Sage flung his hand away and glared at

him. “Don’t worry. No idiot will dare come near me. I’ll kill them.”

Nigel laughed, “Okay, you got this. I’m leaving now. There’s a lot to tend to at the hospital… Oh, yes.

Professor Hermann wanted me to ask you something.” “What is it?” Sage asked curiously. “He has a

paralyzed patient with him. His situation is similar to Jace’s, and he wanted you to have a look.” Nigel

smiled and added, “You’re the orthopedic expert here. The patient’s family said they’ll pay any amount

if you’re willing to treat him.” Sage nodded and said, “Send me his medical reports. I’ll see to it.” Nigel

raised his brows. “You’re willing to treat him?”

Sage replied, “Professor Hermann is my teacher. Plus, how could I reject when you’re throwing in a

favor?”

Sage rolled her eyes at Nigel and added, “However, I won’t make any promises. Everyone is different.

Jace was in the special forces, so he recovered quicker than anyone else.” Nigel stared at his sister

intently. “I understand, Jace had a life-threatening car accident, yet he could heal almost completely. It

was a miracle. Also, I know you’ve put in a vast amount of effort.”

Sage lightly said, “That was in the past. It’s not worth mentioning. Nigel, we all need to move forward.”

Sage returned to the office after sending Nigel to the airport. Finn gave her a call while she was on her

way back to report on the progress of the turf club.

“Mister Yoel and Mister Jace are right beside me. Do you have anything you want to say to them?”

Before Sage could say no, Yoel’s voice was heard. “Don’t say no yet! The weather is fantastic today,

and we’ve laid out the grass in the club. What do you say? Come and bring Milky for a walk. We could

race if you want.” Sage could hear his arrogance and confident tone through the phone. Jace could see

it too.
