Sienna’s father, Dane Zelda, hoped to bring the family back to its glory through a business

marriage. He pinned all his hope on his sister Luna and his daughter Sienna.

He raised them to be elegant and gracious. The girls studied various courses for noble and cultivated

artistic sentiments since their childhood. Unfortunately, he forgot to teach them the necessary ethics

and virtues to be a good person. As a result, he raised them to become two superficial women.

Luna and Sienna were prime examples of someone beautiful yet superficial. As everyone knew,

marrying such a woman would only worsen the family’s reputation.

Sage went to the hospital to bring Wayne home. From a distance, she could see Leah seated on the

long bench near the ward, as if she was daydreaming in a daze. When Leah saw Sage, she hurriedly

wiped her eyes and stood up to greet her. “Sage, welcome back.”

Then, she moved her gaze to Hunter and greeted him with a smile. “Hunter.” Hunter smiled, but it did

not last. His face turned dark when he noticed that Leah’s left cheek was unusually red. He stepped

forward and held her chin. “What happened? Your cheek…”

Leah flinched. “It’s nothing…”

Sage furrowed her brows too. Suddenly, they heard someone crying and sobbing from inside the ward.

It sounded horrible yet familiar. Hunter’s face turned gloomy. He recognized the voice from inside. “Did

your father hit you?”

Leah did not answer, but she nodded with red eyes. She was afraid that Sage would be angry, so she

raised her head and said anxiously, “I wanted to hide, but I couldn’t…”

Leah was afraid that Sage would be angry. Sage frowned and moved toward the room.

The bodyguards at the door bowed in unison and greeted Sage. They noticed her sour expression and

explained in a hurry, “Please don’t worry. Mister Wando is inside. Mister Zane has been making noises

in the hospital for hours, and Mister Wayne agreed to let him in…”

The door to the ward remained closed, probably to prevent the shameful voice from leaking out. After

all, the farnily’s shame should not be made public.

Sage saw Zane through the glass window. Zane knelt in front of Grandpa Wayne and cried. He was the

one who made the unpleasant howl.

Mister Wando protected Wayne from the side. Standing tall and strong, he was intimidating, especially

when he stared at Zane with a firm and stern, warning gaze.

Zane did not dare to cause any trouble other than sobbing on his knees.

“Dad, please help me… I’m your youngest son, but your eldest granddaughter, Sage, she… She’s

trying to kill me. She froze all my assets. Now, I have nothing. I can’t even travel by train or plane. How

can I survive?

“She even crippled Braxton’s legs… According to the doctor, his legs will never recover. He’ll have to

spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He’s so miserable! I don’t want to end up like him. Please,

save me!” Zane cried. When he was about to step forward to grab Wayne’s hand, Mister Wando gave

him another warning glare. Zane then retracted his hand in fear. Wayne’s eyes were full of sadness, but

he refused to look at him. Seeing that, Zane panicked. He crawled on his knees and tried to inch closer

to Wayne. “Dad, even if you don’t care about Braxton and me, please help Yeva! She’s your

granddaughter too! Braxton is too ashamed to see you, so he begged me to come. Please, save Yeva!

“The Jefferson family has locked her up. No one can save her now. Yeva is Braxton’s only daughter.

He’ll depend on her to take care of him for the rest of his life. She’s just a child… Do you want to see

your children and grandchildren die before you?” Zane spoke so much until his mouth and eyes were

dry. Despite that, Wayne did not give him a response. His heart sank upon seeing that, so he continued

kneeling with his back straight. “I don’t care anymore! I’ll kneel here forever if you disagree! I won’t

stand up or leave!” Someone pushed the door open before Wayne could speak. Then, a cold voice

quickly came after, “You can continue to kneel until you die. If you refuse to get up, I’ll take care of your

corpse upon your death.”
