Drinking from the glass, Jace seemed unfazed

“What is there to be worried about?”

Seeing how Jace was all calm and composed, Yoel cursed at Jace under his breath.

Holding back his anger, Yoel started advising Jace, “Tell me, Jace. Why did you decide to come all the

way to Salem City?”

“For business,” Jace replied in a matter-of-fact manner. “Didn’t we agree to work together on the

horseracing business?”

Yoel nodded. “Yeah, I know. But do you know who we’ll be working with?”

Still looking unbothered, Jace said, “It doesn’t matter.”

Jace had an ulterior motive for coming to Salem City. The horseracing business was an excuse.

Therefore, it did not matter who he would be working with.

Observing Jace’s cool unconcerned attitude, Yoel did not want to tell Jace the truth, but he could not

help himself. His desire to tease Jace outweighed everything else.

“Seems like you did not even look into it huh? The piece of land on the outskirts of Salem City belongs

to Norah Estate Agency. Zane and Braxton Norah spent a huge amount to buy the land and were

planning to build a golf course—”

Before Yoel could even finish his sentence, Jace frowned and asked, “Norah Estate Agency?”

He remembered that the estate agency belonged to the Norah Group.

“Yeap.”

Yoel was relieved that Jace had finally picked up on what he had been trying to hint at. “It’s

understandable that you didn’t know about it. You’ve been occupied with expanding your business in

the European market, and so you missed the bidding. My family missed out as well as we had an

internal conflict.”

Hence, Zane and Braxton were lucky to be able to get their hands on the piece of land.

However, in order to get the land, the brothers had taken a huge sum of money from the Norah Group,

and that was what had nearly bankrupted the company.

Pressing his lips together, Jace asked, “So it is Sage’s idea to build a horse racing course instead of a

golf course?”

Yoel snapped his fingers. “Bingo!”

Jace was rendered speechless.

He silently looked toward the set of enamel plates sitting on the desk. Remembering Sages’

displeasure and how she had told him that she had never wanted to see him again, caused Jace to

lose all interest in the plates.

The next morning after brushing up, Sage walked into Yeva’s room.

Yeva was sleeping soundly by the toilet.

At the sight of Yeva, Sage could not help but shake her head. Yeva was truly something else for being

able to fall asleep in such a situation.

For some reason, Sage thought that it did not seem odd to see Yeva sleeping by the toilet as if she

belonged there.

“Miss Sage,” greeted the bodyguards.

Sage nodded and said, “It must’ve been tiring. Get some rest, and you don’t have to come to work later

today. I’ll pay you for working overtime last night. Remember to get your pay from Miss Zamora.”

The bodyguards were all smiles. “Thank you, Miss Sage!”

Their cheerful voice had woken up Yeva.

Opening her eyes, Yeva cried out in pain. She felt pain throughout her body. She felt it in her face, in

her neck, and even in her knees.

What had happened to her?

Touching her neck, Yeva looked around her. In a daze, she asked, “Why am I here?”

“Blackout from all the drinking, huh? Would you like me to help you remember?”
