Sage immediately told her driver to turn back to Bridge Lane.
She had Zayne stay on the phone so she could secure their location. Sage knew Salem City inside-out.
She found them not long after Zayne informed her of the approximate location. She got Hunter to rush
over too.
Jace was lying on the floor with blood all over when she found them. He was bleeding from his face
and it was badly bruised too.
Upon seeing Jace, Sage’s felt a sharp tug on her heart and her pupils constricted.
She couldn’t believe Jace was so seriously wounded. Who had the right mind to do this to him?!
“Mrs. Sage, you’re here!”
Zayne’s face looked pale as he held Jace in his arms frozen. He was so worried that he could hurt Jace
further and he won’t be able to forgive himself!
He had already called for an ambulance and the cops, but Sage managed to arrive earlier.
Sage rushed towards Jace and her face looked dark and cold. “Who did this?!”
“We don’t know,” Zayne shook his head as tears were about to fall off his eyes, “Mi. Yuriel said he
wanted some time alone. The bodyguard and I lost him midway through. We saw a few guys beating
him up with his face stuffed in a gunny sack as we found him. They escaped as soon as they saw us,”
Zayne said
Zayne was in disbelief that his Young Master will be badly beaten up like this. It was tragic.
“Jace, Jace,” Sage patted his face lightly. “Don’t hit so hard, Mrs. Sage…” Zayne was afraid Sage
would hurt Jace even more.
“Put him down,” Sage ordered as she grabbed the gunny sack at the side and placed it under Jace.
She lied down on his body to hear his heartbeat, checked his pulse, and placed her hands everywhere
on his body.
Zayne’s jaw dropped as he sees how Sage examined Jace. It seems like she was harassing him
sexually.
Sage felt relief. It was only some superficial wounds. The assaulters did not harm him for his life. They
were only teaching him a lesson
Sage took a look at the funny sack. She suddenly recalled Fifth Brother saying something about putting
a gunny sack on Jace and beating him up to release her anger. Sage’s eyes twitched. She prayed this
wasn’t Luther’s doing.
Sage instructed, “Let’s not wait anymore! You guys help him to the car. Hunter, please call the nearest
hospital to standby. We will b e arriving shortly!”
“Got it!” said everyone.
The few of them worked in perfect synchronization, with Sage conducting the team and they sent Jace
to the hospital in no time.
The medical assistants put Jace on a stretcher and asked about his condition. Sage answered calmly,
“He was beaten up by someone, and multiple soft tissue injuries were sustained. There are no bone
injuries, but head injuries are present, therefore concussion is not ruled out. AB blood type, he has
been in a car accident. He has undergone major surgery. He’s allergic to…”,
Zayne’s jaw dropped again as he heard Sage reporting Jace’s medical history in a smooth flow. The
ex-wife seemed to be more in touch with Jace than he is.
The medical assistants recorded Sage’s reports and took her mistakenly as one of them and said,
“Don’t worry, we’ll handle it from here.”
Sage nodded and was about to let her hands off the stretcher when suddenly someone held her hand.
Jace was awake, and his hand tightly grasped hers. He stared at her helplessly.
Sage recalled the surgery Jace underwent three years ago. He was injured a thousand times more
than he was now. But Sage’s heart was experiencing the same amount of pain.
Pau.
