Not even trying to hold herself back, Sage threw up even more on Jace, as if he was a dumpster.
At that moment, Jace only had one thought, ‘Why did I bring a drunkard with me?’
Yet, he was the one who took her away and carried her into the car, who else could he blame?
It was his decision so he had to put up with the consequences
However, this whole fiasco was too much for someone who was obsessed with cleanliness.
Holding back the urge to kick her out of the car, Jace said to Zayne, “Find us a nearby hotel.”
Heeding his order, Zayne made a reservation at a five-star hotel and even booked them a room with a
king-sized suite. Inwardly, Zayne was over the moon that things were about to get better for Jace and
Sage.
When he closed the door behind him – leaving Jace and Sage in the hotel suite – Zayne thought to
himself, ‘The day has finally come!’
Compared to Zayne who was overjoyed, Jace, on the other hand, carried Sage into the bathroom, took
off his dirty clothes, and quickly took a shower.
He suddenly noticed that Sage looked as if she could not stand her dirty clothes and she started
unbuttoning her blouse. The upper part of her blouse was unbuttoned, revealing a part of her fair skin.
Because of the hot steam in the bathroom, her fair skin carried hints of red and for some reason, Jace
thought that Sage looked especially alluring.
There was a flicker in his eyes.
He did not have anything in his mind when he carried her into the suite, but right now… he would be
lying if he said that he did not want to do anything to her.
“It’s too hot.”
With all the alcohol that she had drunk, Sage’s body slowly heated up. She thought that she was back
in her own place. She wanted to take off her blouse but for some reason, she could not seem to finish
unbuttoning it and got irritated.
Just then, someone started unbuttoning the blouse for her.
Sage patiently waited for her blouse to be unbuttoned.
They had beenmarried for three years and this was the first time that Jace was helping Sage remove
her clothes.
She was fairer than he imagined and her body figure was almost perfect to his taste. Every button that
he unbuttoned was like a challenge to Jace.
Pressing his lips tightly together as he tried to repress his urge, Jace turned on the showerhead and
tested the water for the right temperature before helping Sage to shower
Even though the both of them were divorced, Sage had once been his wife and there was nothing
wrong with helping in the shower. However, Jace did not have any experience in showering a lady. He
did not know where to start nor where to put his hands.
Her skin felt especially soft and tender undemeath his rough fingers. He was worried that his calloused
hand would hurt her skin.
Sage, on the other hand, was not used to such dilly-dallying. She felt as if someone was tickling her.
She struggled to open her eyes under the water and steam. After a few attempts, her eyes finally met
with Jace’s.
Staring right into his eyes, Sage blinked and she let out a soft gasp.
She thought that had reached a tipping point in her drunkenness to envision a Jace standing with her in
the shower.
Or perhaps it was the season of spring and even her dreams were becoming a little seductive.
Since it was just a dream, of course, she would be allowed to do whatever she wanted to.
Wrapping her hands around the man’s neck, and tilting his head toward her, Sage pressed her lips
against his. She parted his lips slightly, gliding her tongue inside.
Jace knew that he should push her away and have her clean her mouth first because she had just
thrown up.
Jace also knew that she was drunk right now and a gentleman should not be taking advantage of
someone who was drunk; or that h e should knock her out so that she would not regret this tomorrow.
Yet… Jace did not see himself as a gentleman, so why not?
Between the kisses, Jace had to admit something that he hated to admit.
He had fallen in love with her.
After their divorce, he had fallen for Sage.
It was absurd and ridiculous, but it was a fact now. Aside from accepting the truth, there was nothing
else that he could do.
Sage had a long, long dream.
In that dream, she had done a lot of things to Jace and some scenes were NSFW and some were not
suitable for kids under 18 years o f age to know of.
With her face still blushed red, Sage finally opened her eyes.
“Goodness me.”
She let out a deep breath, thinking to herself that it was quite embarrassing to be having such a steamy
dream.
She felt something next to her neck as if she was sleeping on something. Sage turned over her head
slightly, and under the faint, dim yellow light, she saw Jace’s perfectly sculptured face.
He was still asleep. With his hair falling down loosely, Jace looked a lot gentler and softer.
Sage, on the other hand, looked like she had just seen a ghost. With her eyes shot wide-opened, she
jolted out of bed.
What was Jace doing here? And why was he in the same bed as her?
Sage felt her mind go blank for several seconds. Staring at Jace whose upper body was bare and then
looking at herself underneath the covers, Sage was about to lose it.
Could it be that she was still dreaming?
Biting down on her wrist, Sage felt a sense of pain but before her senses came back, she heard a low
and hoarse voice saying, “Isn’t i t painful? Biting yourself.”
Sage lifted up her head slowly and her eyes met with Jace.
He usually had a deep and magnetic voice, but his voice sounded hoarse and husky now, especially
more so because he just woke u p. It was alluring. To Sage, it was like the background music of a
horror movie.
Shutting her eyes tightly, Sage tried her best to recall what happened last night. Unfortunately, her
memory stopped at the part where she was having dinner with he inside, and they had a fight, and
Kane wanted to beat up Jace but she had stopped him… and… and that was it.
She could not recall what happened after that.
It was already bright outside but because the curtains were drawn, the room was still dark.
Sage looked oddly composed on the outside but she was shooting deadly glares at Jace. Before Sage
could even say anything, Jace asked, “Don’t tell me that you’re trying to deny what happened between
us last night.”
