Seeing their endless fight, Sage solemnly said, “Enough!”

She wanted to go home. The night grew dark and cold. She had no interest in watching them fight

anymore.

Both men stopped the instant they heard Sage’s voice. They stood firm and assessed each other from

head to toe.

Jace studied the man who had appeared out of nowhere. The man looked pretentious with his braided

hair and tanned skin. The collar of his black shirt was flipped up, his chin was raised, and he looked

arrogant and wild.

Kane Hudson stood opposite Jace and looked down at him with cold eyes. Jace looked prim and

proper in his suit. “Wow, this guy has some moves, as expected from someone who had served in the

special forces,” thought Kane.

“You’re Jace Yuriel?” Kane asked as he thought, “This is the jerk who made our girl’s life miserable for

three whole years.”

Jace was surprised that Kane knew who he was. His eyes narrowed, “Who are you?”

Kane scoffed and replied, “I’m your grandfather.”

He walked toward Sage, brushing past Jace. Throwing his arms open, he smiled, “Let me give you a

hug.”

He passionately enveloped Sage in a hug.

Jace pupil’s contracted, and his expression tumed cold. He walked toward them intending to tear them

apart.

Sage pushed Kane away before Jace could. She frowned as she said, “You reek of cheap perfume!

Get away from me! Why are you even here?”

Kane smiled, embarrassed, and said, “That’s impossible! I miss you so much, my dear Sage. It’s all

part of the surprise!”

“Some surprise,“ Sage looked up lazily, “When did you reach?”

Kane pointed at Jace, “I reached before he did, and I saw the whole thing.

“You didn’t try to help me?” Sage snapped.

“Didn’t even need to,” Kane laughed as he put his arm around Sage’s shoulders. “Those guys had

nothing on you. I wanted to see if your martial arts had deteriorated after becoming a wife. You didn’t

disappoint me after all,” said Kane.

Sage rolled her eyes at Kane and said, “Nonsense, so are you coming home with me?”

“Ill take you up on that offer. We need to catch up.” Kane answered.

Though she looked displeased, she did not try to push him away. Anyone could tell that they were

close.

Jace’s fists tightened as he felt jealousy creep up on him, he said through clenched teeth, “Let her go.”

Both of them looked up at Jace.

Kane looked at Jace’s livid expression and found it funny. He pointed at himself, “Are you talking to

me?”

“Let go of her this instant,” Jace repeated through gritted teeth.

Kane scoffed and continued, “I was bom a rebel. I do anything you tell me not to do. Why do you care

anyway? She’s no longer your wife.”

Jace narrowed his eyes, and he walked up to Kane, readying for a fight. “Jace Yuriel,” Sage said,

stopping him. “This is none of your business.”
