Jace’s brows knitted into a frown.

Yoel glared furiously at Jace. “Dude, I’ve been saying so much, and that’s the only thing that you care

about?”

“The point of this entire story is not that Sage has another godbrother, it’s her godbrother’s daughter,

Emily Samuel! And that girl has feelings for me and she wants me to run away with her! Doesn’t that

sound terrifying to you?”

LIFE

Jace pressed his lips tightly together. “Ross Samuel. Are you sure that he’s the godbrother, not Sage’s

blood-related brother?”

Yoel raged. “It’s his godbrother! But judging by how they interact, they might as well be blood -related…

are you even listening to me? Emily said she wants to run away with me! Runaway!” Jace thought that

Yoel was being rowdy. Looking at Yoel in disdain, Jace said flatly, “But aren’t you here now?”

“Duh! Do you think I would run away with her?” Yoel had his eyes wide open and went on, “Dude, her

father is Ross Samuel. And who is Ross Samuel you asked? He’s a famous and notorious genius

doctor. Even my father dares not to provoke him in any way. If I were to run away with Ross’ precious

daughter, I’m afraid I’d be buried alive.” Jace took a glance at him and snorted, “The oh-so-mighty Yoel

Fulton is terrified?” “I’m telling you, this is an entirely different situation. Do you know that Emily…”

Yoel suddenly paused. A smile tugged at the corners of his lips when he recalled what Emily told him.

He then looked up to see Jace staring at him, with a questioning look on his face.

Yoel cleared his throat awkwardly.

“In any case, I won’t be able to stay in Nadeem City any longer. Not only have I become the target of

Ross Samuel, but even the rest of Sage’s brothers are also keeping their eyes on me. Remember how

I was tied and beaten up into pulp the last time? I don’t want the same thing happening to me again.

I’m not worried about the pain, but it’s so embarrassing.”

Narrowing his eyes at Yoel, Jace said, “Find someplace else to stay for the night.” “Am I not your best

buddy? Don’t be so cold toward me.”

Yoel put on a pitiful expression and leaned closer toward Jace. “The Yuriel mansion has been vacant

for quite some time, ain’t it? Why can’t I stay there for a few days?”

Arching one of his brows, Yoel added, “Are you worried that I’d find out about your life with Sage back

then? Fret not, buddy. It’s all in the past now, I don’t mind.”

With a darkened expression, Jace replied flatly, “But I care. You can sleep on the streets tonight.”

“Come on Jace, don’t be like that…”

Sage frowned throughout her meeting with Mister Tobias, her company’s legal advisor as she flipped

through the contract in her hand. “Half of the profit? Are you sure?” Seated opposite Sage, Mister

Tobias adjusted his glasses and replied solemnly, “Yes. I’ve talked to Mister Wayne and he agreed that

this was the condition that he proposed to the other party. He even stopped me from telling you about

this and he’ll see how things turn out after he receives the money.”

“Grandpa’s asking for a lot, isn’t he?” Sage was not surprised by her grandfather’s skill and after all, the

project was promoted using his name and reputation in the field. Sage knew that without her

grandfather’s involvement, the project might be affected. Hence, it was understandable that Wayne

asked for such a huge sum.

However, Sage was surprised that Jace would agree to his request.

Did Jace miscalculate something?

“If there are no other issues and grandpa agrees to the terms and conditions, he can sign the contract

then.” Sage handed the contract back to Mister Tobias. Sage called for Louis and had him make

arrangements to send Wayne to Nadeem City. In the middle of giving orders to Louis, Sage received

text notifications on her phone. The messages were from Zachary. [Sage, there’ll be a thunderstorm

today. Make sure to stay safe, okay?] (Oh and don’t forget that you’ve promised to give me that cuff

bracelet!] Not finding anything suspicious, Sage immediately responded with an okay. Jace, on the

other hand, who received the text message pulled into a loving smile even though Sage only

responded with an okay.

Yoel arched his brow at the sight of Jace’s reaction.

Yoel guessed that something must be up with Jace.
