Leah nodded her head shyly. After a pause, Leah asked in uncertainty, “So, about my father and Uncle
Braxton…” “Soon.”
Sage eyes darkened. “They’ll pay for what they did. But before that, I still need to look for someone.
That’s within the family, we’ll settle that in the down low.”
There was no way that they would have it that easy.
They had to suffer first.
Sean Chester really was an impressive lawyer. Lionel eventually caved. He had to use the money he
got from Dean and Suki’s liquidated damages to pay for the money he owed to his taxes, and got
himself a probation.
Sage had also compromised on her side. Lionel was willing to let Dean and Suki go, and in return,
Sage let his son, Brody off. Brody was bailed and returned to freedom. As for Missus Liam, she gave
up and abandoned her husband. Once their son, Brody was bailed out of jail, she flew out of the
country with him to wait for things to quiet down.
Starship Entertainment had now lost two of their biggest artists at once and got themselves into
multiple lawsuits, causing their stocks to plummet.
On the other hand, Norah Entertainment was quick in action. As soon as Dean and Suki terminated
their contracts with Starship, Norah Entertainment immediately announced that they had both joined
and became Norah’s official artists.
Sage was very generous to them as well, she offered Suki the latest jewelry line’s sponsorship as a
welcome gift; and Dean had been working non stop after being casted as the supporting male lead by
the famous director, Lincoln John for his new movie. His fandom had been going
crazy for the official release of the trailer.
“Your ex-wife really is something else. In just a few days time, she managed to completely destroy
Starship!”
Yoel had been confined in his own room, disconnected from reality for a few days now. He was stunned
when he turned his phone on and was bombarded by all the news and notifications.
“I’m talking to you. Are you even listening?”
Yoel sat down on the couch, and looked at Jace who was seemingly in a constant war with his
computer.
“Give it up, dude. You can’t fight her. We’ve been doing this for a few nights now and we haven’t been
able to hack into her fourth wall. She obviously instilled extra security and walls. That woman sure is
scary.”
Jace was ungroomed with a set of dark circles under his eyes. The blood veins in his eyes were even
slowly forming into cobwebs the longer the hours passed. He had tried many ways, but could not for his
life break through the fourth wall. Jace threw his mouse and cussed under his breath, feeling utterly
defeated.
Yoel’s condition was not any better than Jace, he was getting old and burning the midnight’s oil was
taking a huge toll on him. He felt like his body had turned into an empty shell after the past few nights.
Yoel munched on a piece of chocolate cake in an attempt to gain some energy. “Say, why are you
doing this to yourself? Sage is not a normal human being, I realize now that she’s definitely some sort
of superhuman.” Jace stared at the picture of Sage on the monitor with his squinted eyes. Sage looked
like her fourteen year old self in the picture. She had long silky hair that fell gracefully on her back, and
a bright, youthful smile on her beautiful face,. She looked friendly as she waved at the camera. Jace
wished for Sage to be happy and to smile at him like before again.
“I give up.” Jace turned off the computer. “Hacker or superhuman; Sage is still Sage. I accept all of her.”
Yoel almost choked on his cake, he pursed his lips and said to Jace, “My dude, I think you’ve got it the
other way around. It’s not about you accepting her, she doesn’t even accept you.”
