Sage took deep breaths and calmed down.
She knew Tim must have made his arrangements since his return. Perhaps, he had arranged for his
men to guard around Salem City. Without his permission, no one would be able to get out. “Tim.” Sage
turned around and looked at Tim with a pout. “If you’re serious about my safety, you’ve got to prepare
me for this. Don’t hide things from me anymore.”
She could not be tough against her brother. She had to use reasons. Unfortunately, Tim was firm and
completely ignored her pouting. “I’ll let you know what you need to know when the time comes.”
Meanwhile, on the island.
Jace was doing his recovery training. He was covered in sweat. Primrose watched as Jace trained.
Sawyer came over with a grim look after the satellite call. His eyes were dark. “Did he get away again?”
Primrose was already used to it. She did not show any hint of disappointment in her eyes. “If it were so
easy to catch him, he wouldn’t be the Shawn we know. I’ve told you. It’s useless to keep track of him.
The best way to deal with him is to wait for him to come to us and catch him in a trap. We have to kill
him with a single blow.” Sawyer lit a cigarette and smoked in silence. He said nothing. They had gone
into hiding all these years and protected their daughter differently. They were training in the back of the
mountain and building up their strength. However, they still had not gotten any advantage over Shawn
after fighting with him for so many years.
Sawyer was getting impatient. He wanted to go back to Salem City at all costs! He wanted to go home!
He wanted to go back to their daughter!
Primrose soothed Sawyer, “Shawn and I have come to a point where we won’t stop fighting until we’re
dead. He’ll stay alert as long as I’m dead. He won’t easily target Sage. After all, I’m the source of his
evil to him.”
“Prim…”
Primrose snorted softly with an unreadable expression on her face. “He’s the one who brought me into
this world, but he wanted to destroy me with his own hands. How could it be so easy?” “He made me
love this world. I spent so many years finding my children and raising them. They all have my blood in
them. If I die, what will happen to them?”
Sawyer patted her head. “You don’t have to worry about them. To them, we’re already dead. However,
the kids are still alive and well.”
Primrose was rendered speechless and gave Sawyer a warning look. It was rare for her to feel
sentimental, but he came to destroy it!
“How is life better? Tim has been chasing after us. Kane has never given up. Seth looks the calmnest
and most stable, but he was almost obsessed with Norah Entertainment. Fortunately, Nigel has Sean
spoiling him. Even so, he almost suffered from depression. Luther looks silly, but he’s having a hard
time in the Bennett family. He rather spends his days wandering around outside and not going home.
He always drinks to drown his sorrows. How could I not know that?”
Primrose breathed a soft sigh. “As for Sage, my precious daughter, it goes without saying.”
Sawyer’s eyes softened as he listened to Primrose talking about her children. “You look like a loving
mother now.”
“I’m always a loving mother!” Primrose snorted and leaned on Sawyer’s shoulder. She sighed again.
“Actually, it’s not that the children can’t live without us. It’s that we can’t live without them.”
As a parent, it was always like that. Bang! A noise sounded as Jace knocked down the target in the
distance with a shot. Sawyer and Primrose looked over in unison. After the initial surprise, a flash of
light gleamed in their eyes.
Primrose smiled and said to Sawyer, “I now believe he’s the brave man who broke into the enemy’s lair
to help rescue our daughter eleven years ago. That’s something.”
