“Since the both of you have decided to start over, you should date each other properly and be good to
each other. If you dare play with her feelings again, I swear that I’ll tear you up into pieces.”
Kane’s speech left Jace looking all serious and solemn whereas Sage was left dumbfounded.
What did he just say?
Did Kane just randomly decided that she should date Jace?
Who said that she was going to date him?.
“Kane, what in the world are you talking about…”
Furrowing her brows, Sage was about to clarify herself but Jace was a step ahead of her. Holding her
hands tightly in his, Jace replied, albeit solemnly, “Don’t worry, Kane. I’ll treasure her and be good to
her for the rest of forever.”
He said it for Kane and for Sage to hear as well.
This was what Kane had wanted from Jace – his intentions and feelings for Sage.
Since Jace had given his promise, Kane decided to trust him. However, if Jace ever broke his promise,
Kane would make sure that h e would pay for his words.
Since Jace had feelings for his sister, he would have to show some sincerity as there is no free lunch in
this world. One would have to work for what they want.
Sage, on the other hand, was on a completely different page compared to the guys. Anger was pulsing
through her veins as she listened to the conversation between Jace and Kane, without her! Shaking
away Jace’s hand, she seethed, “Are you crazy? Who said that we’re going to get back together?”
Looking at her, Jace asked, “But we…”
“We only slept with each other. If you feel cheated, I’ll pay you then”
Sage was about to take out her purse when Jace grabbed her wrist. “Sage Norah!”
He asked, “What do you take me for?”
Sage pulled her wrist from his grasp and replied, “Just a one night stand, what else do you think it
was?”
Jace narrowed his eyes.
She really knew which buttons to press to humiliate him.
Kane wanted to laugh so bad as he thought to himself that Sage had finally grown up.
Sage sure was ruthless.
Seeing Sage this way, Kane could finally not worry about her being taken advantage of anymore.
When they were about to part ways, Kane patted Jace on his shoulder and said, “Buddy, I wish you all
the best.”
Kane thought that Jace still had a long way to go, with a lot of hurdles to overcome. Even though Jace
had managed to convince him, Sage’s eldest brother would be the most challenging one that Jace had
to face. That man had always been waiting for the chance to kill Jace.
After seeing Kane off, Jace said to Sage, “Kane seems like a pretty nice guy.”
Sage shot him a glare.
Were they not the ones who were at each other’s throats, screaming and shouting at each other? What
was with the sudden change? Were men that fickle-minded too?
Jace noticed the look of disdain on her face and smiled, “We’re family after all, aren’t we?”
Family?
“What family?”
Sage coldly glared at him and got into her car. Before she could even close the door, Jace got into her
car just in time and put on the seatbelts.
“And what are you doing?” frowned Sage,
Looking at her, Jace said, “My whole body is aching and I don’t want to drive. Give me a lift, would
you?” Sage gritted her teeth as she was rendered speechless.
