Yoel and Jace did not wait long until Sage showed up.
She was dressed casually with a black crop top tee and a pair of black short jeans. On her feet, she
had a pair of white sneakers. She did even bother to put on the shoes properly. The back of her feet
stepped on the shoes, wearing them like a pair of slippers.
Her shoulder-length black hair was slightly wet and she wore no make-up. Her fair skin glistened under
the street lights. She looked casual yet sophisticated. She also smelled nice.
Yoel had his eyes glued on Sage.
He never saw her dressed that way. Hence, he was baffled.
Yoel thought to himself that Sage looked stunning.
Jace, on the other hand, stared at Sage for a while before furrowing his brows together, thinking why
Sage lost so much weight.
It was as if she was only skin and bones.
Sage took a glance at the guys and wondered why the guys did not wait in the car but leaned against
the car, waiting for her. It was as if they tried to look cool.
Both Jace and Yoel were dressed casually too. One dressed in a black tee and the other dressed in a
white. From afar, they looked quite good together.
Curling up the corners of her lips, she asked, “Are you guys wearing an outfit for a couple?”
Jace and Yoel exchanged a glance with each other, and then looked at their outfit before taking a step
backward from each other. They looked at each other with a look of disdain.
Both of them had the same thought at that moment: ‘Hell no!’
Yoel noticed that Jace was dressed in black, and so was Sage. They were the ones who were dressed
in matching colors…
However, of course, he would not mention it.
Yoel suddenly put his hand around Jace’s neck and said to Sage, “We are the black and white couple,
look cute, don’t we?”
The corners of Jace’s lips twitched. “Are you nuts?”
Sage chuckled, “You do.”
Yoel was in charge of driving them to the Tasteful Restaurant.
Right when Yoel was about to make a left turn, both Jace and Sage said at the same time, “Go
straight.”
Yoel was wordless.
He followed their directions and drove straight while stealing glances at the both of them through the
rear-view mirror.
Even though Jace and Sage sat apart, Yoel was still slightly annoyed. “Are you guys treating me as
your driver?”
Jace ignored him.
Sage thought that Yoel picked on her so she asked, “Why not I drive instead?”
.
“Sounds good.”
Yoel pulled over the car by a roadside and got down from the driver’s seat.
Sage got out of the car and walked toward the driver’s seat as well.
Right when Yoel was about to sneak into the passenger seat next to her, Sage locked the door, winded
down the window, and said, “Sit at the back.”
Yoel lost his opportunity.
With his brows furrowed tightly together, Jace looked at Yoel who sat next to him, and asked,” Aren’t
you embarrassed?”
Yoel replied nonchalantly, “What’s there to be embarrassed about? I simply thought that the tension
between you and her was too awkward, and thought of helping…”
Before he could even finish his sentence, Sage stepped on the accelerator, driving the car at a lightning
speed.
