Jace thought, I can’t make her angry again now that she’s opened up a little to me.

He had to practice self-restraint and lie back on the bed.

Sage did not have a good sleep. She woke up at her usual time although she only went to bed close to

dawn. She realized Jace was not in his bed

She furrowed her brows and got up. A sizzling sound came from the kitchen comer.

Sage walked towards the kitchen and saw Jace dressed in his hospital gown frying an egg in the

kitchen. He felt her at the door and he turned around immediately, “Awake already?” he asked.

Jace smiled at her, as a drop of oil splattered on him and he jumped. He quickly checked on his fried

egg. Jace was not at all like his usual CEO persona. He looked clumsy.

Sage sighed and signaled him to step away. It’s a wonder he didn’t start a fire. She rolled up her

sleeves and took the spatula away from Jace, “I’ll do it.”

Jace was ordered to stay aside. He quietly observed as Sage flipped the egg. A perfect sunny-side-up

was served on a plate.

Sage looked around the kitchen. There was an abundance of ingredients on the counter. Jace must

have gotten someone to send him the groceries.

She looked at her watch and took out a packet of elbow pasta from the grocery bag. She tumed to Jace

and asked, “We usually have chicken soup for breakfast here at Salem City. Would you like to try

some?”

Jace nodded with interest. He wanted to make breakfast for her, but now he’s now more interested in

having her cook for him.

“Pass me two tomatoes,” Sage ordered Jace as she washed the pot. I

Jace said “Okay,” and took two tomatoes out of the bag. He put them under running water and showed

Sage, “Is this okay?” as he placed the tomatoes on his palms.

Sage looked at him with her head tilted to the side. –

Jace stood by the window. The morning rays hit on his fair arms, the tomatoes were bright red in

contrast to his hands. He looked like a painting with that handsome face of his.

The chicken soup was ready with a fried egg placed on top. Jace took a smell and praised, “Chef

Damian said you are a Masterchef. Now I believe him.”

“It’s just normal chicken soup, how is this Masterchef standard?” asked Sage. “Have the egg, it’s good

for your brain,” Sage said she thought Jace had become less smart since yesterday.

Jace’s eyes lit up as he took a bite. It was extraordinarily delicious. He started to regret that he didn’t try

her cooking earlier.

Sage was influenced by Jace’s appetite and finished a small bowl as well. Yoel walked in as they were

finishing up the food, and he asked, “What’s cooking, good looking?”
