Was Freya happy or unhappy? Naturally, Freya was happy. However, her way of

expressing her joy was... After a while, Master Duncan called back and said, “They‘re both crying.

We‘re packing up and going back to Nadeem City right away! Wait for us!”

Judging by the tone in his last sentence, it sounded like he was going to beat them up. Sage looked at

Jace‘s red face and lost expression, and held his hand tightly. “When you get home, it‘s probably the

same. Be mentally prepared.”

Jace nodded. When they arrived, the two got out of the car and walked to the old residence. Sage held

on to his hand as they walked. She held his hand the whole time. His hand was just too cold. It was as

cold as ice.

She could understand his feelings at the moment. He always had a soft spot for his family. The more

he wanted to see them, the more afraid he was to meet them. He feared they could not bear such a

great shock and change in emotions.

Even so, she had to remind him of something.

“You just need to remember one thing. Your return is a great joy for everyone. No wonder how they

react. They‘re all happy for you.”

Sage‘s word calmed Jace down and steadied his nerves.

Jace put on his mask again. He wanted to give his family some time to digest the news. His

grandparents were already too old to withstand such a great shock.

While on the way back, Sage had informed Henry and Zachary about their visit. She told them to rush

home from work to meet someone very important.

Henry and Zachary listened to her obediently and rushed home. However, they wondered who was so

important that they had to rush home.

Moreover, Sage gathered the whole family together. Were they going to hold a family meeting? It had

been a long time since they last had a family meeting. The two cowardly boys felt a little nervous.

“Who‘s so important that we‘ve to meet him at home?” Flynn sat on the sofa and complained, “Who‘s in

charge of the family now?” Grandpa Yuriel gave him a warning glance. “It doesn‘t matter who‘s in

charge now. It‘s still not your turn to be in charge, so shut up and stay put!” Grandpa Yuriel lectured

Flynn in front of his son Henry. He felt humiliated and grumbled resentfully.

Felipe turned to Zachary. “What exactly did Sage tell you on the phone? Are you sure it wasn‘t about

work?”

Zachary said, “I don‘t know, I don‘t think we‘ll gather at home for work. Sage has her reasons.

Dad, stop guessing. You won‘t be able to figure it out.” Felipe was lost for words. He rolled his eyes at

Zachary in annoyance. Since Zachary became Sage‘s assistant, he had become more headstrong.

Riley sat on the sofa and waited while playing chess. She ignored her family‘s bickering noises. Faye

raised her wrist and looked at the time. “They should be here soon. Come on. Let‘s go out to meet

them.”

She led her two brothers through the courtyards and arrived at the main gate. They were still guessing

who was coming. After all, only a few were worthy of such a grand welcome. When she arrived at the

front yard, she saw Sage coming through with a tall man. They were holding hands and looked very

close. ‘Oh no! Did Sage get herself a new man?!‘ Henry and Zachary thought at the same time. They

exchanged a glance and saw the same guess in each other‘s eyes. Faye froze for a moment before

she went to greet them. “Sage,” she called out but paled when she saw the man‘s face. She stopped

walking after two steps and muttered, “J–Jace?”

Henry and Zachary were shocked by Faye‘s words. Their ears pricked up. “Jace? Where‘s Jace?”
