Chapter 109

Sage had been continuously surprising Jace since their divorce, but right now, the way she looked

when working, surprised him the most

Jace had met a lot of female CEOs and most of them were either too emotional or too imposing, but he

had never met someone like Sage, who was gentle yet at the same time, firm.

Besides, she was well aware of his plans and his intentions.

Jace heard rumors about her but he was witnessing it first hand.

He had been underestimating his wife all this time.

Jace felt a mixture of emotions swirling in him. Flipping to the last page of the contract, Jace was about

to sign the papers.

Taking a sip of her tea, Sage gently reminded, “There’s no rush in signing them. You might want to take

a careful look at the contract and make sure there isn’t any issue before signing the papers.”

“There’s no need for that. I have trust in you.” After putting down the date, he took out the rose seal and

stamped his name on the paper.

Sage’s eyes shook. She did not expect him to keep the rose seal with him.

What was he doing? Was he trying to play the sympathy card?

But this was not his style.

Since he was already using it, it was impossible for Sage to pretend as if she did not see it.

“Do you like the seal?”

Jace took a glance at the rose seal in his hand. The cold porcelain body of the seal was like her gaze,

clear yet cold. He could not help but tighten the grip around the seal

Pressing his lips together, he admitted honestly, “Very much.”

“The material used is of top quality and the carving is exceptional. May I know who custom-made this

seal?”

Jace added, “If possible, I would like him to help me make one too.”

“I’m afraid she’s quite busy recently.”

Sage rejected his request. Taking another sip of tea before asking Hunter to carry out the paperwork for

the contract, he said to Jace, “Once we hear from Yoel’s side, we can then start the racecourse project

right away.”

Jace nodded his head softly. He was wondering why Sage rejected his request without any hesitation.

He wondered if Sage actually custom-made the seal herself.

As soon as the thought flashed across his mind, Jace thought that he was being ridiculous.

Since when did he become so suspicious?

Jace was already stunned that she was a professional hacker and chef. But if she was also skilled in

carving, Jace thought that it would be unfair.

Getting up onto his feet, Sage said, “I believe that you have a busy schedule. If there’s nothing else, we

can end this meeting.”

She was kicking him out this quickly.

Jace too got up and stared at her intently. “Let’s have a drink together if you’re free?”

“Some other day, perhaps.” Sage pulled into a polite smile. “As you can see, I’m rather busy these

days.”

As if he did not get what she was implying, Jace said, “That’s alright, I can wait for you.”

Sage did not know what to say.

Did he not get that she was rejecting him?

“I really am not free tonight, I have another appointment.” Sage rejected him again.

Right then, Hunter walked into the room with a phone in his hand. “Ma’am, Mister Luther had called. He

said that the scallops were just flown in from Hokkaido and that you should go over if you’re not busy.”

“Right, I’ll be there soon.”
