In the evening, Jace finally tasted the fish stew he unreasonably requested from Sage. It was

absolutely delicious. The fish stew tasted refreshing and not at all fishy. Jace nodded in satisfaction and

asked, “Did your boss make this?”

It was Sage’s personal assistant who sent the soup. The young woman answered honestly, “No, this

was from the restaurant in the lobby of our office building.”

Looking at Jace’s disappointed expression, she added, “Miss Norah said she was too busy, and she

had no time to make you the fish stew.”

He was speechless. That cold blooded woman.

Jace put down his bowl as the soup didn’t taşte as delicious as before. He wiped his mouth and said,

“Is she really that busy?”

L-E..

1

“Yes she is,” said the assistant, “She had a few conferences and didn’t get to eat lunch. She’s still in the

office right now. Not sure when she’ll be able to get off work.”.

Jace narrowed his brows.

As the night got darker, Sage had just ended her video conference. She said goodbye to the

participants, turned off her computer, and rubbed her temples.

Hunter closed up his laptop and lean toward Sage and asked, “Do you want something to eat?”

2.

AL!

Im not hungry.” said Sage as she pressed on her stomach and her eyebrows frowned. “I might have

had too much coffee in the aftemoon My gastritis is acting up You can order your food, don’t bother

about me.”

A thought popped up in her mind Sage asked, “Is Sasha back?”

“She should be. Let me take a look.”

Hunter went out and got Sasha. “Miss Norah, you called for me?” Sasha asked.

“Mmm. Did you send him the fish stew?” Sage asked her assistant “Yes.” Sasha replied and added,

“Mr. Yuriel found out you have not eaten. He’s waiting outside to bring you out for dinner.”

Sage was speechless.

Sage felt as if she got struck by lightning.

Jace sat at the CEO’s office lounge waiting for Sage. As he waited, he replied to a few e-mails and had

a cup of coffee. He was patient.

Sage walked out of her office and saw Jace in a mint-colored casual co-ord, white sneakers with

bondages still wrapped around the head. He still looked fresh and handsome even so.

A few bruises were still noticeable. The black face mask he wore was hung at the chin.

He looked up as he heard footsteps. He looked at Sage and smiled, “Are you ready to leave?”

Sage had a few staff stay back in the office at this hour. As they saw him, they thought to themselves,

he looked exactly like a husband waiting for his wife. Sage walked near Jace, stopped within a distance

of three feet, and asked him, “Have you checked out from the hospital?”
