Jace watched the night scene through his car window. He was fumbling with the rose seal as he
realized that he had not known his ex-wife at all. Now, he wanted to get to know her.
The car drove past the landmark of Salem City, The Rose Parterre.
Jace called Yoel.
“I’ve reached.”
Just as she was about to get off work, Sage received a call from Luther. He wanted her to attend a
charity event with him.
Without a hint of hesitation, Sage rejected his offer, “I’m busy.”
“You’re going to die from all the work. To maintain a healthy lifestyle, you should work hard and play
hard.”
Sensing that Sage was about to end the call, Luther hurriedly added, “There’ll be an auction at the
dinner event. I heard that they’re auctioning four enamel porcelain plates. They are from that famous
potter that you admire. It’s mine if you are not going to go for it.
Sage, who was signing the papers, stopped, and said, “Time and venue.”
Luther chuckled, pleased. “I’ll pick you up from Rosa Garden at seven tonight. Be sure to dress well.”
Sage was not usually tempted by a lot of things, but she had a soft spot when it came to pottery.
After taking a shower and changing into a dress, Sage walked out of her bedroom, running into Yeva
who was dressed up as well.
Just a glance at Sage was able to spur Yeva into a jealous rage.
Sage was wearing a red satin dress, a custom piece from the spring collection of the Paris fashion
week. Yeva had been admiring the dress on the internet earlier today, and she desperately wanted the
dress, and here was Sage wearing the dress.
Sage was even carrying a limited-edition LV purse and on her neck, was a shimmering diamond
necklace.
Yeva could not help but wonder if Sage was wearing a million dollars.
“Are you attending the charity dinner tonight too?” Yeva asked bluntly.
Adjusting her earrings, Sage replied in a calm and gentle voice, but her tone was imposing, “One
should be polite when talking to their elders. Everyone in the Norah family has been brought up with
manners and taught to respect the elderly. Have you forgotten your manners?”
Perhaps Yeva was still traumatized by the “event” a few days ago, she felt her heart speed up. She
was worried that Sage might lock her up again if she were to misspeak, and she did not want to go
through that again.
Gnawing on her lips, Yeva said reluctantly, “Sage.”
Sage nodded and took a good look at Yeva’s outfit. “This dress… is the line from Chanell four or five
years ago, right? Not bad, it goes well with your vibe.”
It was rare for Sage to compliment Yeva. Hearing this, Yeva’s face lit up immediately. “You really think
so? What vibes do you see i n me?”
Yeva wanted Sage to compliment her more.. Granting Yeva’s wish, Sage added, “A country-bumpkin
vibe.”
