Well, that was unexpected.
Sage laughed at Leah’s overjoyed face and said, “How can I miss my sister’s graduation? I have to go.”
“Hurray! You’re the best!” Leah passionately hugged Sage by her neck like a little kid.
Zamora was happy looking at them. She was reminded of the past when they were children, and they
were just the same. Sage had no real siblings of her own, and she was always kind to both of her
cousins. Leah was okay, but as for Yeva… that dumb girl. Hunter already organized and sent over the
files of Suki and Dean as Sage just finished her
shower.
As they were both public figures, their information was easily downloadable from the internet. However,
the files Hunter sent over had a lot more information.
For instance, Suki was not born in the cities, she was a farmer’s daughter, and her real name was not
even Suki. Her real life was far more complicated and juicy than the character she played.
As for Dean, he was not a child of government staff. His mother died early on, and his father became
an addicted gambler and almost sold him and his brother off to repay his debts.
The reason why Dean entered the entertainment industry, was mostly because he needed to repay his
dad’s debts.
Many artists had similar backgrounds to his.
That explained why Dean had an irascible temper. The world is brutal, and everyone had their
hardships to face. Sage made a call to Lincoln, a talented director who worked at Norastar previously
after she perused the files.
“Hey, Uncle Lincoln, sorry to disturb you so late. I wanted your opinion on two artists.” Nothing was
secret that would not come to light. What happened that night at the hotel was major. Luther warned
everyone not to leak anything from the surveillance cameras, and the hotel staff did not spill a thing.
However, there was a passerby that witnessed the whole scenario and told people. The gossip spread
like wildfire. Although it was not backed with evidence, the gossip forums were exploding with the
hearsay. Especially with Dean being so popular, his fandom was huge. They got hold of the news that
their favorite celebrity was hospitalized and some tried sneaking into the hospital. Fortunately, Seth got
someone to guard his ward.
Dean was not too seriously hurt. He had two stitches from the self-inflicted wound on his head, and
there were some superficial wounds.
The drug he had did not go into his body system as they reached the hospital just in time.
Dean wanted to discharge the next day. He had a full schedule and it was important for an emerging
artist to be kept busy at all times.
However, as he got changed and ready to leave, his company sent a notice telling him that all activities
were put on hold, and he should wait for further notice. He knew it meant he was shelved by the
company. Dean let out a smirk. He already knew his acting career was over the moment he refused to
be assaulted by Mister White. How should he know, what his future would ever be?
Xavier comforted him by telling him not to overthink it, and focus on healing. Xavier’s heart sank He
knew how Dean struggled all these years, and how much he sacrificed to be who he is today, being his
classmate and best friend. Seth and Suki’s faces were solemn too. At that moment, Sage came, and
she came with a food truck.
As everyone was looking astonished, Sage said lightly, “Don’t overthink it. Come, have some food.”
