Zayne was nagging his boss. “Mister Jace, did you speak to her when you saw her? Such
a waste. You should’ve spent more time with her. It wasn’t easy getting into the restaurant.
“We’ve completely ruined our relationship with Chef Myles this time. Should I prepare a gift and send it
to him? He must have thought that we were going to kidnap him…” Jace nodded and said, “Just take
charge.”
Zayne turned around and asked, “The multi-colored vase you got me to retrieve from the museum was
one of Grandpa Yuriel’s precious collections. Does Miss Sage know how much it
costs?
Zayne was worried that Sage had underestimated the value of the vase. “It’s worth much more than the
porcelain plates—”.
“I’m not spending your money. Don’t be a busybody,” Jace interrupted Zayne.
It was impossible for Sage-Master of Jade-to not recognize the multi-colored porcelain. As for the price
value…
It did not matter. Jace looked at his wounded hands and thought he would craft another gift for her if
not for his clumsy hands.
However, who gave her the smiley face necklace she wore? Was it from another pursuer? It was
getting dark, and so the party ended. It had been a long time since they met. The guys were planning
to go for drinks next, but Sage rejected them as she was busy the next day. She drove the emerald
sportscar back to Rosa Garden with her presents.
She brought the porcelain vase back too. Her grandfather once told her, “You can never let something
precious go. It’s a curse to waste something valuable.”
The rain subsided as she drove back. Sage felt tired, and she got changed, took off her makeup, and
checked her phone. There were many messages and missed calls, and most of it was birthday
blessings. Quite a few of them were from the Yuriel family. Freya, Zachary, and Faye sent over their
wishes. It was like the old times, but it was not the same.
Sage felt warm reading their messages. She was grateful for their warmth that helped her survive three
years of a loveless marriage to Jace.
Sage thought for a bit and decided to reply to their messages. Zachary immediately video called her,
and she answered. A handsome face appeared on the phone screen. “Hey, sis. Happy birthday!”
“Thanks, Zachary, Your message was well received.”
As Sage responded, Zachary slipped his screen, and the whole family was seen sitting on the couch
together in front of a cake, singing the birthday song.
