Sage brought Kane back to Rosa Garden.

Kane stood in the front yard of Rosa Garden, admiring the roses under the night sky. He squatted

down, and the scent of roses hit him. It reminded him of how his mother had smelled.

The last time he had visited Rosa Garden was for his mother’s wake. Three years had passed since

then.

Sage patted his shoulder lightly in comfort. Their staff was surprised when they saw that Sage had

brought a man home. They did not know who he was.

Zamora got excited when she saw Kane and said, “Young Master.”

“Long time no see, Madam Zamora,” Kane said as he swallowed her in an embrace.

Leah stood behind Sage, looking confused when she saw the scene unfold.

To be frank, Leah felt as though she had met Kane before this, but she could not recall where she had

met him. Sage had referred t o him as her brother, and they shared a dynamic similar to the one that

Sage had with Luther.

Sage was the only daughter of her Uncle Sawyer and Aunt Primrose, and it seemed unlikely that she

had any other cousins. Unless he was a relative from aunty’s side of the family?

Leah had no idea what background Primrose Sawyer had. She had remembered vaguely that

Sawyer’s brothers had been strongly against the marriage, and he stated that she brought bad luck.

Uncle Sawyer had never listened, and he had married her against everyone’s wishes.

Tums out, Aunt Primrose had been a great help to Uncle Sawyer, and the business thrived with her

help. The Norah Group had flourished with her joining the corporation. Even the naysayers benefited

from her input. Then, came that day.

Uncle Sawyer had passed away in a car accident. For him to be so successful and die had been a

tragedy for many people, and the naysayers had started up their song once more.

Leah’s father had been one of them.

He said, “I’ve said it earlier, and I’ll say it again. Primrose Vaire is just bad luck, just look at her. She

had the looks of a femme fatale. I’ve tried so hard to dissuade Sawyer from marrying this woman and

look at him now. I was right all along!”

Leah had not cared for her father’s conspiracy theories. Aunt Primrose was ever so kind to her when

she lived at Rosa Garden as a kid. Those were the happiest days of her life. That was all she needed

to know.

Sage told Leah to grab a shower and go to bed. She told her to wear earplugs and to under no

circumstances leave the room no matter what she thought she heard.

Leah nodded obediently and knew that Sage was about to teach Yeva a lesson

Meanwhile, Yeva was clutching her phone, worriedly muttering, “What’s going on? How come there’s

no news at all? Is she even dead yet?”

Upon receiving the news about Minnie being canceled, Yeva made a call immediately to Minnie once

Sage left the place, but there was no answer. Yeva tried and tried, and finally, Minnie answered around

noon.

Minnie was partying with a bunch of girlfriends in a club. The music was ear-deafening. She yelled on

the phone, “What do you need from me, the second Miss Norah?”
