Melody kneeled on the carpet in the living room before the side table. She would occasionally sneak a
glance or two at her father, aunt, and uncle, who were all glaring at her from the sofa.
It was as if there were three tall mountains about to fall on her, making her breathless.
Yoel stood behind Melody. The scene before him had stunned him speechless.
Even though he did not do anything wrong, he felt like the anger coming from Ross, Sage, and Luther
was partially directed toward him…
The surrounding air was getting thinner when Ross finally parted his lips to utter, “You’re all grown up
now, are you? How dare you do such a heinous thing to your uncle? Apologize to him now.”
Ross was referring to the pistachios that were spiked with the Happy Pill and given to Luther. That was
indeed Melody’s fault. She turned her knees to face Luther and apologized with her heart.
“I’m so sorry, Uncle Luther, I shouldn’t have given you the pistachios. You must’ve suffered, laughing,
right? Why don’t you take your anger out on me and hit me?”
Melody reached her hand out to Luther. Luther was about to glare at her when she retrieved her hand
and said, “Oh no, I don’t have a lot of flesh on my palm. It’ll hurt too much if you hit me there. Why don’t
you hit my butt since I have plenty of flesh there.”
She then turned around and perked her buttocks up to Luther like she used to do when she was a
child.
Yoel’s eyes widened.
What sort of position is that?!
Even though Melody was facing Yoel whilst her buttocks were facing Luther, Yoel was a tall man!
He could see everything from that angle.
Yoel’s ears burned up and turned into a deep crimson as if there were flames coming out of them…
Unsure what triggered Yoel, he immediately picked Melody off the floor, like carrying a toddler. Her
body was lifted off the ground and landed in front of him.
Melody felt her body being lifted, and her heart floated with it. When she came back to her senses, she
was right in front of Luther.
She finally knew what it was like to fly high.
When Yoel carried Melody off the ground, Luther and the rest immediately glared at him coldly.
Yoel let go of Melody. He felt a chill down his spine and could not muster the courage to look into Sage
and Ross’ eyes. He turned to Luther and said, “Luther, all the kid did was feed you some pistachios.
There’s no reason to be so dramatic, right? Is it because you have bad gut health and couldn’t digest
them?”
Yoel thought that was the only possible reason because how ill-intended could a child be?
He continued, “I have bad gut health as well, which is why I always have some digestive medicine in
my car. I’ll get you some later.”
Luther squinted his eyes at Yoel and almost said it out loud, ‘Who needs your help? You’re the only one
with that issue!’
Melody stood behind Yoel and thought ecstatically to herself, ‘Oh my God, he’s protecting me! He really
is into me! He’s just too shy to admit it! Ah, this is amazing! Luther thought to himself as he chuckled
silently, ‘What a calculative man, acting all alpha in front of the girl. I know exactly what you’re thinking.’
Luther smiled and said to Yoel, “Since you’ve already asked for forgiveness on her behalf, I’ll be the
bigger man and forgive her this time. The pistachios she customized herself were pretty good. I’ll have
someone send you some to try it out.” “Okay!” Yoel did not think Luther would be so forgiving and
generous, and he took the offer right away. Yoel felt someone pinching his arm. When he turned
around, Melody was staring at him and shaking her head.
Yoel was puzzled.
Melody thought to herself, ‘Brother Luther, you have no idea how treacherous the society can be.
You’re too naive! A naive grown man like you is really worrying.’
