Myles Damian’s cooking was so excellent that even if it was just some common home dishes, he’s able
to make it exquisite and extremely mouth-watering.
“Enjoy your meal.”
Sage and Jace sat at opposite ends of the table. They talked about the turf club project as they ate,
both of them were of a few words, but every word they said was with purpose. Their tacit was a no
match.
It was as if no time had passed between them.
Sage suddenly recalled something Yoel said to her, “ You can still stay friends even if the marriage
didn’t work out.”.
Her pupils contracted, eyes set on Jace. He put an effort into putting together his outfit today. Even
though Jace was always seen wearing formal suits, the sage green suit with juniper-colored buttons
matched with a bright red tie is not his usual style. He looked almost Yuppie.
Jace was extremely charismatic and handsome. A real gem that no woman will reject, including herself.
They might be friends or even soulmates if he didn’t hurt her that much, or she didn’t love him so
deeply.
Jace kept talking to himself for a while, and he looked up as he realizes Sage was quiet. He found her
staring at him. Her large eyes, filled with deep Sorrow. The mole under her right eye looked mystical
with her large watery eyes.
Jace found that he talked too much tonight, more than the whole of last week.
It came out naturally of him. Did he just open up to her? They never used to have much to talk about in
the past.
“Sage,” Jace called out her name. Sage was still wandering in her mind, answered subconsciously,
“Huh?”
Jace looked at Sage intently with his dark eyes, his handsome face looked a little lost. His lips moved,
voice deep, and he said, “Can we start over?”
Sage’s heart skipped a beat. She instantly snapped out of it once she heard those words come out of
Jace.
A long, silent pause.
Jace started to panic as Sage stared at him in complete silence.
He felt like a teenager again, confessing to his crush in school for the first time. He felt both hopeful
and afraid of rejection as he waited for her to talk.
Sage smirked and mocked him, “Mr. Yuriel, did Sienna tum you into a Casanova all of a sudden?”
It wasn’t the reply Jace anticipated. He felt as though a bucket of cold water splashed down on him. His
pupils contracted as his lips pursed and said, “What are you trying to say?”
“Trying to get back with the ex-wife after meeting with a lady in the hotel room last night. Your
womanizing skills are still pretty good it seems.” Sage continued. Though Sage was half-smiling, her
eyes looked cold and distant.
