Jace was already irritated as it was and after hearing Sage’s response, the edge of the scale finally
tipped his frustration.
Did she really just ask what their relationship was?
He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists as he took a few seconds to regain his composure and asked
again, “I too would like to know who I am.”
The three men were startled by the way he sounded – miserable and sad.
All of a sudden, it seemed as if Jace was the one who was being abandoned by Sage.
Sage sneered and her voice was laced with mockery, “Who else would you be? My ex-husband,
obviosuly. Didn’t that sweet lover of yours meet with you the other day? You should be going on dates
with her instead, what are you doing here distracting me? Are you planning to have your feet in two
boats?”
Almost immediately, the three men stared wide-eyed at Jace, surprised that he enjoyed this sort of
thing.
Jace’s face darkened as his reputation was slowly being smeared by the woman he loves.
A vortex of anger swirled inside him but there was no way for him to vent his anger. At the same time,
Jace flirted with the possibly of Sage being jealous and perhaps, she still cared about him and that was
why she said those mean words. All of a sudden, his anger slowly dissipated.
“I didn’t know that Sienna would be there.”
Jace explained, “I’ve told her what I needed to and she will not interfere with our lives anymore…”
Before he could finish his sentence, Sage made an X sign with her arms.
“You are you and I am me, there is no us.”
Staring at Jace’s face, Sage scoffed, “Did you forget that promised to love her forever? Are you really
going to break that vow of yours? I must say that you and Sienna are a lovely match-made in heaven,
one brazen and the other shameless. What a powerful combination, don’t you think so?”
Jace’s face darkened even more. “Sage…”
He took a step toward Sage but was blocked by Kane. “Get away from my sister, do you hear me?”
Jace ignored him and charged straight ahead. The moment he collided with Kane, a fight was about to
break out when Sage suddenly jumped onto Kane’s back and whispered into his ears, “Kane, you
promised me that you wouldn’t lay a finger on him.”
Worrying that Sage might fall over, Kane instinctively held Sage up who was on his back, tumed his
head slightly, and replied,” Just looking at him makes me want to punch his stupid face, Plus, he’s the
one who’s looking for trouble, can’t I teach him a lesson?”
“No can do.”
Sage had too much to drink and even though she was drunk, Sage was fimm on her decision. “I’m
getting sleepy now. Would you please send me home? I don’t want to see this person anymore.”
Kane bit down the raging urge to beat Jace up because he had promised Sage on this before. Kane did
not care about the rest but he knew how determined Sage was. If he had beaten Jace up today, Kane
was worried that Sage would make him pay for what he did the moment she sobered up.
The rest of the guys also had no intentions of putting up with Jace anymore. Staring at Sage as she left
the room with the three men, Jace’s gaze clouded even more.
He was worried about Sage leaving with the three guys, hence he decided to follow them.
Sage was drunk so she could not walk straight and she staggered with each step. She looked as if she
was about to trip and fall anytime.
Seth quickly held her and sighed helplessly, “Drunkard, stop acting tough. Come on up, I’ll carry you.”
Seth crouched down for Sage to get onto her back. However, before Sage had even got onto his back,
a group of businessmen with their beer bellies were walking toward them and behind them was a lady
all dressed up. Seth looked up and accidentally met eyes with her.
Seth froze slightly whereas Suki stopped in her tracks completely. However, once her sight landed on
Sage, her gaze tumed piercingly cold.
